As the reigning Kapamilya Comedy Queen, Ai-Ai De las Alas admitted she wants to follow in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie who has started producing Hollywood films aside from acting.
Playing the long-lost sister of Marian Rivera in Kung Fu Divas, Ai-Ai said she really focused on making the movie one of her best projects. “All my heart and my soul binigay ko dito sa movie na ‘to,” she admitted.
The action-comedy flick, which was shot in locations like Batangas, Laguna, and Bataan, also involved a lot of computer-generated graphics which made their fight sequences look even more impressive. But Ai-Ai said it is a different kind of acting challenge to pretend they were actually in exotic locations like a floating temple in the sky. Pumayat talaga ako nun kasi yun yung time na madami rin talaga akong pinagdadaanan,” she said.
The 48-year-old Kung Fu Divas star also admitted she was impressed with her younger co-star. Ai-Ai shared her first encounter with Marian when the mestiza beauty hadn’t yet joined showbiz. (laughs). Ang puti eh. So nakaka-mesmerize yung ganda niya. And mabait siya.
Known for her versatility in doing a variety of roles from comedy to heavy drama, Ai-Ai said there are still some roles she hopes to be able to bring to life someday.
As a producer, the talented actress also said she wants to get involved in more projects that are being lined up for the future. “Marami pa. Marami pa akong hindi nagagawa,” she added.
