Kakai Bautista on Maja Salvador's maturity and resilience: 'I'm so proud na pa-move forward ka at hindi pabalik.'
"Patuloy na bumubuti.
This was how comedienne Kakai Bautista described her good friend Maja Salvador in the face of the excessive judgment and flak that the latter has drawn and is continuously receiving from the public due to her relationship with Bukas Nalang Kita Mamahalin actor Gerald Anderson.
Maj kasi walang masamang tinapay eh. Alam naman siguro natin yung naganap di ba? Pero si
Maj never siyang lumaban, nagsalita
against sa kabila. Wala ka talagang narinig sa kanya. Mas talakera pa ako, mas patol pa ako,"
shared Kakai during an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph
at the recently-concluded Maja Unveils @ 10
Kakai was referring to the widely-known rift between Maja and her former best friend Kim Chiu after the former got into a relationship with Gerald, who was the latter's ex-boyfriend. "Tsaka nung dumating nga 'yung time nga na 'yun sa buhay niya, hindi mo siya makikitang umiyak. Siguro 'yun 'yung way niya na ayaw niyang mag-alala ka sa kanya. Ako pa 'yung umiiyak lagi, 'yung Mommy niya, sila pa 'yung nabubwisit pero siya pa 'yung [nagsasabi na] 'Ano ka ba, 'wag ganon,'" she further shared.
For Kakai, the biggest weapon that the former Ina Kapatid Anak star probably has in this ongoing ordeal of hers is her sunny disposition in life. "Si Maja kasi sa totoong buhay hindi magaling mag-drama 'yan eh, gusto lang niya 'yung masaya lagi... Andun siya sa point of her life na nag-mature na siya. Wala na siya sa high school stage o college stage na kapag malungkot, malungkot, damay-damay ganon. Hindi. Marunong na siya. Naaral na niya na to pick up herself na kahit wala kami," the comedienne commented.
Where is this positivity coming from? Kakai said she suspects it's from the fact that the dancer-actress was never bitter about her life and the decisions that she made, may the outcome be good or bad. Although she shared that Maja still has her rare "high school moments" filled with "harutan", Kakai reiterated that, "Iba 'yung utak ni Maja pagdating sa buhay minsan tinatawanan niya na lang talaga.
"'Pag nalulungkot 'yan, ano siya 'yung nalulungkot di ba? Ikaw pa 'yung papasayahin niyan. Napaka-positive niya kahit na alam mong may pinagdadaanan siya. Hindi siya 'yung nagwa-wallow sa pain, 'pag tapos na 'yan, tapos na 'yan," Kakai added.
This attitude, Kakai said, shines even more in the face of the nastiest bashing that Maja gets on her Instagram account about her family. "Actually siya kapag nakakabasa siya pinagtatawanan nalang niya. [Sa akin kasi] ang hirap kasi ng hindi patulan," Kakai said, who confessed to be more sensitive about Maja's bashers than Maja herself.
To this day, rumor has it that the Kim and Maja still haven’t buried the hatchet about the matter and Kakai said she thinks Maja has learned to accept the fate of their friendship, and, as a matter of fact, regrets nothing about what came off of it. If anything, Kakai says Maja is "a risk-taker" who is currently "living her life to the fullest."
"'Yang si Maj kasi kapag dumating 'yan sa point na pak acceptance, hindi na siya nagho-hold ng grudge eh. Tapos na," Kakai revealed, even adding that, "Kasi si Maj hangga't kaya niyang ibigay lahat, forgiveness, pagmamahal, understanding, patience, ibibigay niyan lahat. Pero 'pag tumigil na 'yan, sorry. 'This is over, I'm okay, I'll move forward.' Kasi matiyaga talaga 'yan eh, sobrang tiyaga niyang taong 'yan eh."
As Maja celebrated her 25th birthday last October 5, Kakai's simple wish for her included an album and a world tour for her ongoing birthday concert titled Maja Unveils @ 10 as well as "More more happiness and positivity."
Meanwhile, to the bashers and critics of the actress, Kakai's curt message was: "Sana kilala niyo siya sa totoong buhay para alam niyo."
