Janice de Belen talks about her revived acting career

<div><img src='' alt='010613-janice_main.jpg' width='305' height='290' align='left' border='0'>Tagged as the Horror Queen of 2012, Janice de Belen said that it was merely by chance that she did several horror flicks—namely <i>Shake Rattle and Roll XIV</i>, <i>The Strangers</i>, <i>Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles</i>, <i>Pridyider</i> and <i>Mga Mumunting Lihim</i> in the same year. As it is, she was part of the original cast of the first instalment of <i>Shake, Rattle, and Roll</i> back in 1984. 'It's fun. I enjoy making monster flicks. <i>Kahit na nakakapagod</i> and you know that it takes a lot of time, <i>pero </i>gusto <i>ko kasi iba naman ginagawa ko sa </i>TV,' said the actress/host in an interview with <a href='Push.com.ph'>Push.com.ph</a>.</div><div><br/></div><div>But she also stressed that she doesn't think much about gaining leverage whenever she accepts a certain project as long as she's happy with it. 'I'm really thankful. <i>Yung mga ganito hindi ko naman pinagiisipan.</i> When I accept a project, [<i>ang</i> considerations <i>ko lang kung] maganda ba yung</i> role,<i> sino mga kasama ko, parang okay naman. Kung may</i> time let's do it. <i>Hindi ko iniisip na</i> maybe I should do this movie [to achieve a certain status], <i>wala akong ganon basta nage-</i>enjoy <i>lang ako.'</i></div><div><br/></div><div>Janice was also blessed with memorable TV roles ever since she came back to ABS-CBN two years ago. After playing a martyr-mom in<i> Budoy</i>, she proved to be an effective kontrabida in <i>Ina Kapatid Anak</i> this time around. 'You do not know how overwhelming it feels...<i>Alam mo, 'pag marami nagagalit sa akin,</i> that means <i>tama ginagawa ko. Kakainis 'di ba? Minsan naiinis din ako sa sarili ko</i> (pertaining to her character Beatrice). <i>Pero 'pag nakikita mong ganon,</i> that means you're doing a good job.<i> Okay na yun sa akin. Tsaka</i> it's a chance to do something that people are not used to seeing you do.”</div><div><br/></div><div>When asked how she rewarded herself for all the hard work she put in last year, Janice shared that she just bought a new Lumix camera and spent the holidays with her family in Cebu. 'Because of Instagram, I want to take better pictures. And lately<i> napansin ko yung camera kong luma, bakit parang malabo na,</i> out-dated <i>na siguro yung cam</i>. That's why I bought a Lumix <i>tapos bumili ako ng lens. Gusto ko talaga matuto mag</i>-photography <i>pero hindi lang talaga ako magaling,</i>' she added with a laugh.</div><div><br/></div>
