Dawn Zulueta on Gerald Anderson: 'Hindi siya mahirap katrabaho'

013113-dawn_main.jpgDespite talks about Maricel Soriano’s “anger management” issues, Dawn Zulueta claimed that she’s very willing to work with the Diamond Star if given the chance. On her part, she has never had a bad experience working with Maricel in the past. “Kami ni Ate Maria, we’ve worked together in the movie Filipinas. And I think once upon a time in the past, I’ve also done her Regal drama show, meron siyang weekly show noon. I’ve such a wonderful working rapport with Maricel. I would love to work with the Diamond Star, ninerbyos ako. Siyempre working with a Diamond Star, alam ko na malaki ang expectations.”

On the other hand, Dawn was also all praises for Gerald Anderson with whom she briefly worked with in the movie Catch Me I’m In Love. As far as his acting skills are concerned, Dawn admitted that she was huge fan of his teleserye Budoy.Hindi naman ako nahirapan sa kanya e. As a matter of fact, I found him to be very focused. He came on the set prepared. After that. I watched him in Budoy and I think he even improved more as an actor. Kaya nga tuwing makikita ko siya siya sa Budoy, sabi ko nga gusto ko makatrabaho ito kasi ngayon ko lang nakita kung what else he’s capable of. Magaling pala talaga.”

Dawn further shared that most young stars from the Kapamilya network are very passionate about their craft. “I get excited with the young ones that I worked with. I see how hard they work and how professional they are. They even do research. I’ve never reprimanded a young star. I’ve been lucky I have been able to work with a lot of good kids.”

Although she’s very patient when it comes to showbiz newcomers, Dawn admitted she also gets frustrated when a young star seems detached while doing a particularly dramatic scene. “Kasi ikaw ang mukhang OA kasi yung kasama mo walang karea-reaksyon. Sometimes I pull them aside and try to talk to them. But if there’s no time to do that, sometimes I just push, push in the sense na sisindakin ko na lang sa eksena para matauhan, baka sakaling natutulog lang. Minsan ginagawa ko yun then I apologize afterwards and I tell them that I didn’t get anything from you. I explain to them that it’s important that you get involve when you’re doing a scene.”

Are there any words of wisdom she would like to share with Gerald before they start taping for Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin? “I wouldn’t know what kind of wisdom he will need. I don’t want to be presumptuous sa mga pinagdadaanan niya. Pero as a professional actor siguro, I recommend that he just continue to learn from his craft and to never ever stop learning because I don’t. It’s one of the secrets of longevity in this business.”

Dawn added that she already met with Gerald during their photo shoot for the teleserye, the same day during her solo press con last January 28. Although Gerald did not grant any interviews at the time, he was obviously relieved that he was going to work with someone he’s comfortable with. “Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Gerald, thank you for having me.’ Tapos sabi naman niya, ‘No, we're supposed to be the ones to say thank you for having us.’ Yun ang opening greeting namin sa isa’t isa sa pictorial.”
