JM De Guzman to his critics: 'Basta ako, binigay ko lang yung best ko'

<div><img src='' alt='012513-jm_main.jpg' width='305' height='290' align='left' border='0'>After the successful run of his afternoon series <i>Angelito Book 2</i> which ended late last year, JM De Guzman said he has bigger acting goals for this year. “<i>Nakakapagod yung</i> 2012 (laughs) <i>pero</i> thankful<i> ako kasi yun na yata yung </i>year <i>na sobrang daming pumasok na</i> blessings<i> sa buhay ko. May</i> point <i>na nahirapan siyempre. Pero</i> happy <i>ako na</i> 2013<i> na, tapos</i> moving <i>pa rin.</i> Goal <i>ko ngayon ganun pa rin, magtrabaho ng magtrabaho</i> (laughs). I plan to do better, mas <i>mabigay ko pa yung </i>best <i>ko,</i>” he shared.</div><div><br/></div><div>The actor shared how he juggled a successful, but challenging year. “Balance <i>lang talaga. </i>This year <i>siguro bago sarili ko, yung</i> family<i> ko muna. Yun yung parang pinalit ko ng</i> goal. <i>Yung </i>goal <i>ko ngayon,</i> everything I do, <i>para sa kapatid ko, para sa </i>parents <i>ko, para </i>solid <i>talaga sila,</i>” he said.</div><div><br/></div><div>One of JM's goals this year as an actor is to try as many different roles as possible. “<i>Gusto ko yung mga hindi ko pa nasusubukan gusto kong yun yung parang</i> challenge <i>sa akin, yung mga hindi ko pa na-ta-</i>try,<i> sana ma</i>-try<i> ko naman</i> this year. Dream role <i>ko yung tipong… mga gusto ko yung patayan eh. Yung parang gera?</i> War movie. <i>Puwede ring may espada, ganun</i> (laughs),” he admitted.</div><div><br/></div><div>Apart from playing dramatic roles on TV, the talented actor also capped off the past year by being part of the Metro Manila Film Fest horror film entry The Strangers along with Julia Montes and Enchong Dee. “<i>Masaya naman yung </i>experience. <i>Masaya po kasi </i>welcoming <i>sila at saka mabait,</i>” he said.</div><div><br/></div><div>With so many blessings that he received last year, JM said he cannot name just one standout moment. “<i>Wala nga kasi </i>unforgettable, <i>wala akong makalimutang araw eh </i>(laughs). <i>Lahat talaga ng nangyari sobrang na</i>-appreciate<i> ko kahit mahirap, masarap.</i> So <i>ayun</i>,” he admitted.</div><div><br/></div><div>When asked to address issues raised by some critics regarding his show's supposedly abrupt ending last year, JM said he is not bothered by the intrigues. “<i>Lahat naman may karapatan magka-opinyon. Pero basta ako, binigay ko lang yung </i>best <i>ko at kung ano man yung tingin ng ibang tao dun,</i> thank you and sorry. <i>Yung</i> criticism <i>wala naman po yun, wala namang paghuhugutan dun di ba? Hindi lang naman</i> opinion<i> mo yung nag-ma-</i>matter, opinion <i>din ng ibang tao. Dun ka rin natututo, yung makakapulot ng </i>ideas<i> din,</i>” he said. When asked what his state of mind at the moment was, JM calmly answered, “It's very balanced. I’m fine and I’m ready for action (laughs).”</div><div><br/></div><div>When it comes to his love life, JM said it is not his priority this year. “<i>Saka na </i>(laughs). <i>Trabaho po muna.</i> Resolution<i> ko nga yung mas mapaganda yung trabaho lalo</i>,” he said.
