The actress shared that they decided to call it quits to focus on their respective careers.
After persistent rumors about splitting up, Rayver Cruz and Cristine Reyes finally admitted that they have indeed gone their separate ways last year. However, the former couple clarified that despite their decision to call it quits, they remain good friends. “Ang maganda dito
okay kami dahil magkaibigan kami
, and matagal na kaming naghiwalay ni AA
(Cristine’s nickname), last year pa
and we gave our best dito sa
and ganun siguro talaga, hindi naman halos lahat ng
-work, 'di ba
?” Rayver explained in an exclusive interview on The Buzz
The actor continued that he and Cristine agreed not make their breakup public but eventually people noticed. “Pero sa huli kasi ang daming nakakahalata, and as being unfairly judged na naman sa mga nangyayari, so nag-decide ako na dapat sabihin na natin. Very mutual naman ang decision namin eh,” Rayver asserted.
Cristine also shared the reason of their break up. “Parang siguro kasi bata pa kami pareho eh and parang gusto rin muna naming mag-focus sa work. Gusto naming mag-focus sa career namin.” The former couple were also one in saying that there is no third party involved in their separation.
Cristine was then quick to explain about the rumors regarding her dating No Other Woman co-star Derek Ramsay. She said that it's probably because they are spotted in public places. She clarified that they are not dating and have gone out with their group of friends, even when Derek was still in a relationship with actress Angelica Panganiban.
Although they are no longer together, Rayver said Cristine will always be a big part of his life. Cristine said that she feels the same way. “Siyempre andito pa rin ako para sa kanya and katulad ng sa kanya, parte na rin po siya sa buhay ko and 'di ko ibabale-wala ‘yung pinagsamahan namin. Anytime, alam naman po niya ‘yon eh, andito lang naman ako.”
