After attending his first Star Magic Ball last September 1, former Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited housemate Paco Evangelista said it was a dream come true of sorts for him to be able to get invited to the prestigious celebrity event. "How do I feel? Oh my god, it’s wild. It’s like PBB Big Night all over again (laughs). I see a lot of stars and it’s my first time. Kasi naman I’m still a fan. Dati nakikita ko lang sa TV yung mga taong ito tapos right now I’m shoulder-to-shoulder with them and it’s really a humbling experience din kasi ang feeling ko, ito yung mga bagay napuwede ko ikuwento sa mga apo ako at magiging mga anak ko," he said.
Paco, who recently made a guest appearance on Wansapanataym, also shared how he came to escort fellow ex-housemate Jessica Connelly down the red carpet as well. "I went here with her, but I’m also looking for other friends. We really didn’t talk about it. Sabi lang namin na magkikita kami dito tapos if we can, we can walk together. Eh she doesn’t want to go alone on the red carpet so I said let’s go together. If people would ask if I was her date, she just said, ‘Yes’ and same thing with me so there," he shared with Push.com.ph.
Paco wore a suit by Santi Obcena, a former classmate and a native of General Santos city as well. "He was a Project Runway finalist. He’s really good and he was my classmate before so that’s why I chose him," he said.
The 26-year-old aspiring actor admitted that of all the stars that night, he was hoping to run into Jessy Mendiola whom he is working with in the upcoming Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Isla. "Siyempre gusto ko makita yung mga crush ko dati (laughs) at yung ka-trabaho ko ngayon na si Jessy Mendiola. I want to see her. I’m pretty sure she’s looking very glamorous. Hindi ko pa siya nakikita pero sure na ako dun. And of course there’s Yen Santos na lagi kong napapanuod sa Pintada. And of course my former housemates," he said.
Paco said that he is already excited to start taping scenes with Jessy already. "Hindi ko pa siya nakaka-eksena pero nakakasama ko siya sa tent pag taping, nakakasama ko siya off-camera. I never expected that she can be that nice, siguro dahil fan pa rin ako so andun pa rin yung status na she’s someone already. Working with her, sharing drinks with her, actually even going in her car, sumasabay ako sa kanila, it’s such a big deal sa akin. People might not even realize how big it is for me kasi hindi ko inexpect yun. It’s something so unexpected and I know na totoo siyang tao. Nakakausap ko siya so it’s a big deal for me," he said.
The former PBB housemate also took time to defend his co-housemate and friend Slater Young from intrigues that he is getting arrogant. "I really hope that everybody would understand that I guess kasi first time ko sa showbiz so I’m also hoping na maintindihan din ng mga tao yung position din siguro ni Slater is not easy kasi he’s being paired up with madaming loveteam, ganyan. Siguro it puts a lot of pressure on his side din. Just to balance it off, kasi sa tingin ko hindi rin naman fair na hindi maririnig yung side ni Slater. Sana lang maisip din ng tao na there’s also a lot of pressure on his side," he shared.
Lastly, Paco also said he is happy with the support from his fans online, especially those who get to interact with him on Twitter. "First of all I love you guys. I will not be here kung hindi dahil sa inyo so maraming, maraming salamat. I don’t know if I can thank you enough pero alam niyo yan na lahat ng ginagawa ko ay para sa inyo so I’m doing some shows now and I’m really excited and happy about it so para sa inyo yan," he said.
