With hits like One More Chance, Miss You Like Crazy, and now The Mistress, the John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo tandem has proven itself a formidable one at the box office. The 24-year-old actress said she believes the success of their love team lies in the fact that she and Lloydy never went beyond a platonic relationship. “Oo malaking advantage kasi hindi naman natin alam kung baka nga sa sampung taon baka kung nagkatuluyan man kami, baka two years pa lang or one year wala na and possible din na kung sakaling nangyari yun, ayaw na namin makatrabaho ang isa’t isa kasi it would be awkward. So major blessing talaga yung hindi naging kami,” she shared.
Bea said that she and Lloydy have an easier working experience now because of their history together.
When asked to comment about Lloyd’s reported new relationship with Angelica Panganiban, Bea opted to just pass on the question. “I can’t speak for him. Basta happy ako sa estado ng relationship namin as co-workers,” she added.
Now that their new movie The Mistress is showing, Bea revealed that even her boyfriend Zanjoe Marudo is excited about her new film. So mas madali siya for me kasi naiintindihan niya and parang nakakatuwang isipin na proud siya sa iyo,” she said.
Bea also shared that she has no qualms of working with Zanjoe in a movie. “We might actually. I don’t mind. It’s okay although it would be weird for me kasi nga kami di ba? Parang nakakatawa siya eh, comedy, so okay naman,” she said. The Fil-British beauty said she is very much happy in love right now with Zanjoe. “PBB teens pa rin, kilig pa rin hanggang ngayon!” she joked.
The talented actress said she is not pressured for The Mistress to reach the same record-breaking success of her previous films because she knows that they made a good movie. “Confident talaga kami dun sa ino-offer namin sa audience. So kung yun lang, okay na ako, without thinking about the box office and everything. Pero siyempre nakatulong na si John Lloyd yung nakasama ko na alam mo na yung mga taong nagmahal sa amin from day one, na alam mong papanuorin nila ito para suportahan kami,” she admitted.
