Nikki Valdez: 'Hindi ako naghahanap ng magpapasaya sa akin because my life is happy'

083012-nikki_main.jpgNikki Valdez has been a single mom since she got separated from her husband a few years ago, but she said she’s in no rush to be in another relationship, especially since she feels complete with her daughter in her custody.

“Well, I go out in groups kasi andun ako sa point na hindi ako naghahanap ng one person na magpapasaya sa akin because my life is happy with my daughter around and iba ‘yung goal ko ngayon. Kung dumating siya, thank you, bonus na lang,” the actress explained.

She revealed that as for now, she has no suitors. “Wala talaga eh, maybe because hindi ‘yun ang ina-attract [ko]. Di ba ‘yun ang sinasabi nila, you get what you attract—or what you give. I guess they see in me that there’s no interest right now.”

Push.com.ph then asked Nikki if she is not lonely since she has zero love life.  “Not at all. Alam mo di ko alam kung nawala na ‘yung gano’n (desire to be in a relationship). Of course my heart is beating, of course kinikilig pa rin ako pag may nakikita ako [na sweet couples] ‘no, but that’s not my priority right now.”

Nikki also revealed that her ex-husband has no communication with her and with their daughter, but her little girl does not seem to miss her father because she gets a lot of love from Nikki’s family. “Hindi niya hinahanap [dahil] nararamdaman niya lahat ‘yun sa family namin. Although I can say that if I have couple-friends, she is close to the guy. Parang gano’n, unaware siya don. Siyempre ako na lang nagbibigay ng meaning do’n.

However, despite the lack of communication, Nikki credited her ex-hubby for responsibly sending financial support to their daughter. “She does have the monthly support, wala lang talaga kaming communication. Ang importante my daughter gets what she deserves from him.”

What Nikki is working on now is to make her four-year-old daughter understand why she needs to be away most of the time and work. “I’m at a point in my life now na kailangan andun ako palagi (for my daughter). Akala ko hindi kami aabot sa point na maghahabol siya, ‘yung gusto niya palagi niya akong kasama. Lagi niyang sinasabi na, ‘Do you have work today? Don’t go to work.’ Akala ko di kami aabot sa ganon. Kasi when she was younger di siya ganon. Pero may kunswelo ako sa kanya because she always tells me, ‘Thank you for taking care of me.’ Lagi siyang ganon,” related the proud mom.

Meantime, Nikki is happy that she is part of the teleserye Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo, where she plays the best friend of Shaina Magdayao’s character, and provides the comic relief in the teleserye.Nakakatuwa kasi dahil pag ‘di ako lumalabas, hinahanap talaga nila ako. And it’s a good feeling kasi hinahanap talaga nila ‘yung makakapagpasaya sa kanila kasi ‘yun ang role ko do’n,” she beamed.

“I’m very thankful kasi nararamdaman ng mga manonood yo’n. Atsaka I’d like to especially thank ‘yung mga nasa buong mundo sa TFC (The Filipino Channel) dahil sobrang sinusuportahan nila kami kaya andito pa rin kami.”
