Shaina Magdayao says she didn't do a hair makeover to cope with a heartbreak

082512-shaina-main.jpgShaina Magdayao shared that she wants renowned Hong Kong hairstylist Gary Sun to do her haircut at their family-owned beauty salon. Since he’s the new technical consultant of Ystilo, she joked about getting a free makeover one of these days. “Actually kahit trim lang, masabi lang na nagupitan niya ako,” she told Push.com.ph.

Shaina recently changed her hairstyle and color, reminiscent of other female celebrities who did hair makeovers right after a breakup. But the young actress was quick to say that it wasn’t to boost her self-confidence after breakup with John Lloyd Cruz, but for the sake of her fierce character in Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo. “Really? I don’t think so. Siguro nag-a-apply yun sa iba pero kailangan lang talaga ng makeover ng role ko. This is the first time na nagpa-highlights ako.”

At this point in time, she’s just grateful about the overwhelming success of her afternoon drama together with Jake Cuenca and Bangs Garcia. “I always say na what we did was such a big risk. Kasi matapang yung tema namin, it's infidelity. May sabunutan, sampalan and all the drama. Siguro nga talagang blessing siya kasi ang daming nakaka-relate kung kabit ka man, or ikaw yung first wife or ikaw yung lalaki. Si Jake nakaka-relate (laughs)! Nakakatuwa kasi naa-appreciate nila yung pinagtratrabuhahan namin.

Shaina further shared that she’s proud of Jake because he manages to juggle two full-length soaps at the same time. “It’s always been great working with him. Isa siya sa paborito kong leading man. He’s very professional and caring. He has two shows now including Kahit Puso’y Masugatan on primetime TV. But he's never late on the set, walang tantrums. He loves what he's doing. Ang sarap niya kaeksena kasi walang arte.”

Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo has run for three seasons and has been extended until the third week of April. What’s next for her after this project? “Jake and I were talking last taping. Sana magkaroon kami ng movie. Sana our fans will continue to support us. But after Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo, mag-rest ako ng kaunti kasi three seasons na kami. I will just unwind after the show. Rest muna and do ASAP, then next year na ulit.”
