Vice Ganda teams up with Kris Aquino in Sisteraka: 'Sabi niya balahurain mo ko'

He’s slated to do Star Cinema’s entry Sisteraka opposite the Queen of All Media Kris Aquino. “I’m doing a movie now with Toni Gonzaga, This Guy’s in Love With You Mare. After nun, yung movie naman namin ni Kris. Excited ako kasi first film fest ko ito. Noon pa yun gusto ko makasakay ng float. Dati dream ko maging part ng Shake, Rattle, and Roll. Hindi horror ang pelikula ngayon ni Kris, comedy naman yung Sisteraka,” said Vice Ganda who recently won as Yahoo OMG Award Comedian of The Year. Vice Ganda said he is confident that he and Kris would be an effective comic tandem since they know each other well by now. “We’re the best of friends. Actually, asawa nga ang turingan naming dalawa. Kaya hindi kami nahihiya sa isa’t isa. Napapayag ko naman siya. Sabi niya, ’Balahurain mo ako ha? Itulak-tulak mo ko!’ Hindi ako hesitant na lokohin siya kasi malalim na pinagsamahan namin.” The fact that people voted for him to be Comedian of The Year only goes to show that Vice Ganda remains to be one of the most bankable stars to date. Asked how he constantly reinvents himself, the 36-year-old shared that it’s not a matter of strategic planning on his part. “Maswerte lang ako dahil may panahon ako makapanood ng news kaya lagi akong may bagong bala. Mahirap kasi kapag komedyante ka meron kang materyal, na ‘pag nagpapalabas ka meron kang script. Hindi ako sanay sa ganon. Kaya laging bago kasi spontaneous [yung jokes ko]. Kung ano lang yung stimulus na makita ko ng oras na yun, ganon lang.” Vice Ganda admitted that being in the entertainment business could be exhausting at times; but he tries to motivate himself by looking at it as his main purpose in life. “Everyday ako nagtratrabaho. Nung isang araw 16 hours ako diretso nagtrabaho. Hindi mo minsan maiwasan na yung katawan mo bumibigay. Yung lalamunan mo, nagkra-crack na. Pero ayoko mapagod na magpatawa pa sana. Unang-una, ang ganda ng trabaho ko. ‘Di ko na nga iniisip na trabaho ito. Feeling ko this is my purpose in life. So naa-achieve ko yung purpose ko, at the same time kumikita pa ako.” While it’s so easy to put down by one’s day to day struggles, Vice Ganda shared that the key is to count your blessings instead. “Taon ko every year. Hangga’t buhay ako taon ko yun. Kine-claim ko na. Para saan pa na binuhay ako ng Diyos kung ‘di ko naman taon? Kapag nagigising ako, ang iniisip ko, kaya ako ginising ng Diyos kasi araw ko pa rin ito.”

Vice Ganda is all set to start working with Kris Aquino in Star Cimema's Metro Manila Film Fest entry for 2012.
