Eugene Domingo says she is content and happy being single right now

061412-eugene_main.jpgAfter winning the People's Choice for Favorite Actress award at the 6th Asian Film Awards earlier this year, Eugene Domingo has a lot to be thankful for. When it comes to her personal life, Eugene said there is nothing new to talk about. “Wala. Siguro in God’s time pero open na rin ako sa wala. Okay na rin ako sa wala. Hindi naman yun sad. I’m sure hindi sad yun. The 40-year-old actress admitted she currently has no prospects as she is not seeing anyone in or out side of showbiz. “Wala, wala talagang nagpaparamdam. Dito sa pelikula meron (Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme), horror ito eh (laughs),” she joked.

Eugene said she does not feel pressured by the constant questions regarding her personal life because she understands that it is all part of being a public figure. “Eh hindi kayo nagsasawa eh (laughs). Hindi rin ako magsasawa sa kasasagot. Kung 72 years old na ako tapos tanong pa rin kayo ng tanong, eh sasaktan ko na kayo (laughs),” she said.

The Kimmy Dora star said she is happy at the state of her good friend Ai-Ai De las Alas’s love life. There have been reports that Ai-Ai may be getting married before the year ends. Although Eugene did not confirm if the news was true, she said she and Ai-Ai have been in touch with each other despite working on different projects.

Although she is seen as an independent and accomplished woman, Eugene said this does not mean she is giving up on the idea of marriage altogether.

Eugene said she tries to just be practical with her savings in showbiz. We’re not always this hot,” she said.

The Kimmy Dora star also gave some advice to the younger generation of actors who also want to make it big in the industry. “Kalma. Yun lagi ang sinasabi ko, yes you have to be committed to everything, huwag kang tatanggi. Kung sa umpisa pa lang tumatanggi ka na, dadating ang panahon that you will have the best options. Dadating ang panahon na mabibigay sa iyo yung mga roles na you deserve because you are very reliable.

Catch Eugene in Kimmy Dora and The Temple of Kiyeme in theaters nationwide. The movie also stars Dingdong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo, Miriam Quiambao, Alodia Gosengfiao, Ryan Bang, Ariel Ureta, Kiray Celis, and Mura.
