Celebrities and fans mourn for Whitney Houston

<img src='' alt='021312-whitney-main.jpg' border='0' height='290' width='305' align='left'>Legendary pop star Whitney Houston passed away Saturday afternoon in the US, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. In a report by Gretchen Fullido on TV Patrol, the singer was found dead by authorities inside her hotel room. The cause of Whitney’s death is still to be determined but police say there was no evidence of foul play in her room. Whitney was set to attend her mentor Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party at the hotel that evening. In the past years, Whitney was often in the headlines as she was in and out of rehab for substance abuse and because of her turbulent relationship with husband, singer Bobby Brown. Fans and celebrities were all shocked with the news of her death. On Twitter, celebrities expressed their sadness and mourning for the singer whose hits “Greatest Love of All,” “Where Do Broken Hearts Go,” “Saving All My Love,” “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” and “I Will Always Love You” have been a big inspiration in their careers. Charice: “One of my heroes, Whitney Houston. I will always love you. RIP” Mariah Carey: “She will never be forgotten as one of the greatest voices to ever grace the earth.” Rihanna: “No words, just tears.” Jennifer Lopez: “Such a loss. One of the greatest voices of our time. Sending out prayers to her family. Katy Perry: “So devastating. We will always love you Whitney.” Toni Braxton: “She's paved the way for every single singer in the music industry. Iconic, legendary, innovating, amazing, humble...1 the best in the world” Christina Aguilera: “We have lost another legend. Love and prayers to Whitney’s family. She will be missed.” Randy Jackson: “Wow I am devastated. The world has lost another one of the best voices in history. RIP Whitney Houston, so fortunate am I to have worked with u, and have u touch my life. May god bless this family.” Kapamilya stars also gave a tribute to the singer on ASAP 2012. “Siyempre nakakalungkot. Pero yung music and mga songs niya mananatili sa mga puso natin,” shared Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo on the news of her death.

The legendary singer passed away at the age of 48.
