Kris Aquino says she has been supportive of son Joshua's healthier lifestyle.
As the Aquino household gets ready to celebrate the holidays abroad this year, Kris Aquino said she could not ask for anything more except good health for her family and loved ones. The Sisterakas
star also couldn’t help but share how impressed she was with her eldest son Josh’s continued weight loss.
“The two boys did not really ask for anything except that Josh got a reward because he lost 92 pounds this year. Yun ang proudest at siguro masasabi ko na by the time Christmas comes, si Coach Chappy Callanta told me na 100 pounds ang ma-lu-lose niya kasi steady pa rin na two pounds every week talaga,” she said.
Kris said that while her son has become very active in working out and enjoys sports like running and swimming, there are a lot of other factors that contributed to his slimmer frame. “Sobra. Grabe, discipline. Number one breakfast, that’s the most important meal. He was not eating breakfast before now he eats it, nag-fu-fruits at miso soup, portion control. Five times a day kumakain pero konti-konti and then tinigil yung mga deep-fried food, tinigil ang mga sugar drink and ang fruit is the dessert. It came from him, he works out six days a week, as in talaga,” she said.
Apart from changes in his lifestyle, Kris said she has noticed changes in her son’s attitude as well because of his new look. “Talagang proud ako kasi this time last year his waistline was 46, it’s now 36. He was 320 pounds. The last weigh-in nila, he was 220. Ang goal lang namin because he is 6’2” is to be 215 pounds. Sobrang lapit na talaga. Konting-konti na lang. And nabago yung outlook niya, nabago yung disposition niya at ngayon na-excite na siya sa damit so yung nanay naman, na-excite din na bagong wardrobe para sa kanya,” she admitted.
When asked if she had already bought him new clothes, Kris said Josh’s coach wants her to wait a little longer before going on a shopping spree with him. “Hindi pa kasi sinabi sa akin nung coach na hinay-hinay daw kasi nga liliit pa. But this is the first time na kasya na siya sa large na shirt. For the longest time he was triple extra large. Kaya sobra talaga yung pagka-proud namin doon. Sabi ko nga tinalo pa niya yung mga Biggest Loser. Kasi di ba 92 pounds,” she said.
When it comes to her younger son Bimby, Kris said she is also proud of his new endorsements. She said Bimby also enjoys being in front of the camera and is even jealous when he is not included in his mother’s advertisement shoots. “He loves it. And galit nga siya pag wala siya eh. Kasi meron akong dalawang shinoot na wala siya. Sabi niya, ‘Why am I not there?’ Sabi ko, ‘Because you’re very expensive’ (laughs),” she said.
The Kris TV host said that she is equally proud of her two sons and is happy to share that they are growing up to be good people. “Yes super. Yung pag nakikita mo anak mo, nabubura lahat ng ego sa pagkatao mo kasi nari-realize mo that meron talagang mas mahalaga, mas importante and I’m proud I raised a good kid. Kasi sometimes sasabihin ko sa kanya (Bimby), ‘I love you so much honey,’ Tapos sasabihin niya, ‘But mama, you should also love kuya.’ Parang ganun na parati niyang sinasabi na both of them. I tell him, ‘Of course I love kuya’ pero ayaw niyang ma-feel na nakalamang siya kaya parang sabi ko, ‘What did I do? Parang may tama akong nagawa dito ah (laughs),’ she said.
