Gerald Anderson says he will always be proud of Manny Pacquiao

<div><img src='' alt='121312-gerald_main.jpg' width='305' height='290' align='left' border='0'>Just like the other Filipinos who saw the Manny Pacquiao versus Juan Manuel Marquez fight in Las Vegas last December 9, Gerald Anderson said he was shocked and saddened to see the “Pambansang Kamao” get knocked out in the sixth round. “<i>Siyempre nadurog puso ko nun. Naiyak nga ako eh. Naiyak ako nung napanuod ko </i>but at the end of the day,<i> manalo, matalo,</i> you know he’s still our hero and <i>siya pa rin ang</i> Pinoy pride<i> natin,”</i> he told <a href=''>Push.com.ph</a> during the <i>Liwanag ng Pasko ABS-CBN Christmas Special</i> taping held last December 11 at the Araneta Center in Cubao.</div><div><br/></div><div>The 23-year-old actor admitted to being a big Manny Pacquiao fan and even arrived at the event proudly wearing a shirt bearing the Pinoy boxer’s face and the Philippine flag. Gerald said he was not disheartened by the outcome of the fight and looks forward to watching Manny’s fights in the years to come.  “<i>Oo naman, </i>I’m really a big Pacquiao fan. Actually, I think that out of all his fights, <i>kahit dun sa mga panalo niya</i>, this is the best time<i> para maging</i> proud <i>sa kanya,</i>” he said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Starting next year, Gerald said he is most looking forward to working with his newest leading lady Cristine Reyes in their new Kapamilya teleserye. “In a couple of weeks<i> mag-sa</i>-start <i>na kami sa Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin. Mga</i> first week <i>ng</i> January. <i>Nag</i>-bond<i> na rin kami. Oo naman kumbaga</i> we’re just getting ready<i> para mag-</i>start <i>na. Magaling si</i> Cristine and she can offer something different <i>para sa mga </i>viewers,” he said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Gerald admitted he is excited to see how the fans will accept his new leading lady. So far, he says he is comfortable with Cristine. “<i>Oo naman, iba naman. Siyempre hindi naman, walang ilangan. Wala, wala talaga. Siguro dahil pareho kaming</i> professional <i>at saka lahat naman kami</i> excited <i>para mag-</i>shooting <i>na. gusto nga namin mag</i>-January<i> na eh.  Kumbaga</i> leading lady <i>ko siya</i> so for the next six months <i>kumbaga </i>I’ll do my best <i>para alagaan at magkaroon kami siyempre ng </i>chemistry as a onscreen partner,” he shared.</div><div><br/></div><div>Gerald also said that he doesn’t think there will be an issue with Cristine’s boyfriend Rayver Cruz regarding any intimate scenes that he and Cristine may have in the series. Rayver is also Gerald’s basketball teammates io the Star Magic team. “<i>Si</i> Rayv <i>ang dapat niyong tanungin diyan</i> (laughs). <i>kumbaga siyempre. Pero alam niyo si </i>Rayver<i> ano yan eh,</i> professional <i>yun.
