Upon learning that she would be included in the latest sequel of Shake, Rattle & Roll, the Aryana star said that she could hardly believe the good news. “Sobrang surprised nung sinabing magsi-Shake, Rattle… ako. Di ko ine-expect,” she beamed.
Ella revealed that earlier this year, she was informed that she would be part of a movie that would be an entry in the MMFF, but she didn’t expect it to be the successful horror franchise. “Hindi ko in-expect na dito sa Shake, Rattle & Roll ako mapupunta, so sobrang thankful po ako sa Regal (Films), so sobrang saya, sobrang excited, talagang nasurprise lang po ako,” she said.
Apart from playing a blind girl, Ella added that she found doing a horror movie really challenging. “Hindi katulad ng Aryana kaya medyo napi-pressure din po, but at the same time ginagalingan ko rin naman po.”
Ella added that the horror genre is difficult because it requires a lot of energy. “Siguro kasi kailangan takutin ‘yung iba [so] kailangan tatakutin ang audience; [kailangan idaan sa] tono ng boses [at] galaw [so] medyo mahirap.”
In 2007, Ella starred in the movie Resiklo topbilled by Sen. Bong Revilla and which was an official entry for that year’s MMFF. This also gave Ella a Best Child Actress award. For this year, she knows that competition for an acting award in the film festival is really tough, but she does not mind if ever she would win an award.
For now, Ella is busy with Aryana, which is expected to end January 2013.
