Regine Velasquez says the restaging of her silver anniversary concert has been tentatively set for December 8.
Regine Velasquez’s voice was still not back to normal but she assured reporters at the November 22 press conference of her latest endorsement that it was getting better. Since her November 16 silver anniversary concert had to be cut short due to a virus that made her lose her voice, Asia’s Songbird is planning to restage the concert this December.
She said that they are tentatively eyeing a December 8 concert, but they still need to confirm the availability of people who are part of the program. “Kasi it’s not just me naman. What, the whole orchestra, that’s like 65-piece? So 60 people, 65 people ‘yan, the back-up singers, so lahat ‘yun, inaayos pa namin, and of course, the guests,” said Regine at the Pampers Slumber Party held in The Peninsula Manila, Makati City. “But as soon as malaman namin ‘yung schedule, mag-a-annouce na kami.” She said that they plan to do the concert before Christmas.
then asked the Songbird what she can assure her fans for her upcoming concert. “Na may boses [na ako]
,” she quipped. “I’m trying to get well.
“It was really unfortunate that I got sick the week of my concert and I got hit the day [of the concert] itself. So wala naman tayong laban and the weird thing about that virus, ‘yung throat ang affected kasi ang dami naming may sakit and they’re all… walang boses talaga,” she shared.
“Slowly, slowly, it’s getting better, actually. Pero, may konti pa rin akong malat. Inuubo pa rin ako. Grabe yung virus talaga na ‘to! But yes, it’s getting better. It’s getting better.
“We’re trying to make sure that my voice is in top condition 100 percent. As soon as we take everybody’s schedule, [na] talagang pwede na lahat, then we will announce when is the exact date,” she stressed.
“Voice rest pa rin ako, so hindi pa rin ako masyadong nagsasalita. Sa house, sign language…” she managed to joke.
For Christmas, Regine said that they will be flying to Australia to be with her husband Ogie Alcasid’s two daughters with former wife Michelle van Eimeren, but they will be back in the Philippines for the New Year.
