With her supposed Metro Manila Film Fest entry called off, Zsa Zsa Padilla accepts a TV project to keep herself busy.
Zsa Zsa Padilla was supposed to be part of the movie Mga Kwento ni Lola Basyang
, which was initially an entry to the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival. However, the film will no longer be part of the film festival and shooting has been called off.
The Divine Diva admitted that she was disappointed at first because she turned down a TV project to make way for the said movie. “The past few days, disappointed ako dahil hindi ako magte-teleserye sana this year to give way to that (movie). But nakausap ko si Tita Cory (Vidanes, ABS-CBN Channel Head), nagawan ng paraan na magte-teleserye na ako this year. Sabi ko more than anything talaga ayoko sa bahay [kasi] nakakalungkot,” shared the singer-actress. Zsa Zsa is still dealing with the loss of her long-time partner Dolphy who passed away last July.
Over All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day, Zsa Zsa went to Hong Kong together with friend Kris Aquino’s family and visited Hong Kong Disneyland. The singer-actress related that being in Hong Kong was also hard for her because it reminded her of Dolphy’s favorite place. “Medyo nalungkot ako nung nagpunta ako dun sa paborito niya sa Canton Road, gusto niya ang hilera ng mga shops dun. Medyo nag-emotional moment ako dun sa taxi. At least sa taxi, mag-isa lang,” she said, making an effort to make the interview light.
Zsa Zsa also shrugged off unpleasant comments made by some people over her decision to be in Hong Kong rather than visit Dolphy’s grave on November 1. She said that she did visit her partner’s burial place earlier. “Pag Undas talaga kahit si Dolphy no’n lagi siyang pumupunta (October) 30th or November 2 or 3. Ganun talaga, kanya-kanyang ano talaga. Mas magandang mauna ka. Pwede ka rin namang mahuli, basta hindi ka naman [makakalimot],” she explained. “Tsaka kahit hindi Undas andun ka naman, eh.”
Zsa Zsa then continued that she does not visit Dolphy’s grave as often as before and only does so to check it once in a while. “Mula nung namatay siya pa sa Heritage, humiwalay na ako sa body niya kasi syempre bilang Kristiyano, dapat isipin mo meron na siyang buhay sa langit, so dapat talaga mas attached ka na dun sa spirit niya kesa dun sa katawan.”
She added that she was unaware about this issue and she would rather choose to ignore these kinds of statements. “Kasi kanya-kanya. Dapat bigyan din ng konsiderasyon na pag artista hindi dapat nakikisabay sa lahat, in the sense that mahirap kasi na magkaroon ng privacy and I think naman I’m just being honest naman na maiintindihan ng lahat ‘yon,” she justified.
Zsa Zsa said in a previous interview that she does not want to spend Christmas in the country and that she and her kids are planning to go abroad to avoid getting sad because this will be their first holiday without Dolphy. Initially, they were planning to go to South Korea but they were advised to change plans because of the really cold weather. Zsa Zsa said that they have not yet decided on the alternative destination.
