Kathryn Bernardo admits she has matured a lot because of 'Princess and I'

<div><img src='' alt='100512-Kathryn_main.jpg' width='305' height='290' align='left' border='0'>As star of the top-rated Primetime Bida series <i>Princess and I</i>, Kathryn Bernardo said she was happy to be part of another successful project after <i>Mara Clara</i> and <i>Growing Up</i>. “<i>Happy ako kasi mas matagal yung</i> show, <i>kaya lang andun yung</i> pressure s<i>a amin na baka habang magtagal hindi naming alam kung masu-</i>sustain <i>namin yung </i>ratings, <i>ganyan. Pero </i>hopefully s<i>ana yun lang yung magiging </i>challenge<i> namin na ma</i>-sustain <i>yun hanggang matapos.</i> At first <i>hindi naman talaga namin in</i>-expect <i>na mag</i>-top <i>yung</i> show, <i>hindi rin ako ganun ka</i>-confident <i>kasi yung</i> big stars l<i>ang talaga namin siyempre si </i>Ms. Gretchen Barretto <i>at</i> Mr. Albert Martinez, as in <i>yun yung mga </i>senior stars. <i>Pero siguro nakita naman nila na sinusubukan talaga namin na kahit kami-kami lang</i> and then thank God <i>na naging</i> successful,” she shared with Push.com.ph.</div><div><br/></div><div>Kathryn admitted that she has definitely matured over the course of the show’s run. “Feeling<i> ko nag</i>-mature <i>ako kasi mas marami akong natutunan ngayon </i>especially with our director. <i>Yan si </i>direk Rory Quintos <i>na talagang</i> super a<i>ng dami mong matututunan sa kanya</i> and very strict talaga siya <i>sa amin, pero</i> in a good way <i>naman</i>.<i> Para matuto kami</i> and <i>para matuto ka na mas maging</i> professional<i> kasi makikita mo kung gano ka-</i>professional <i>si </i>Tito Albert,” she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>The pretty morena said her life has changed even more that the series has grown so popular. “<i>Ngayon kasi Mikay na tawag nila sa akin</i> (laughs). <i>Parang feeling ko, ‘Yes graduate na ako sa Mara Clara, hindi na Mara yung tawag sa akin </i>(laughs).’ <i>Pero may iba yun pa rin ganun pa rin eh.</i> And <i>makikita mo na yung mga bata na</i> ages seven to nine, <i>yan talaga yung </i>market <i>namin na makikilala ka na nila kahit bata pa sila. Masarap ang feeling na ganito kasi sinasabi nila hindi sila natutulog hangga’t hindi nila napapanuod ang Princess and I. para sa akin</i>, very flattering <i>yun </i>of course,” she admitted.</div><div><br/></div><div>The talented actress said that despite the success, she has not let fame get to her ego. ”<i>Siguro </i>same <i>pa rin ako pagdating sa makakausap mo naman ako kahit kelan, basta madali mo akong makakausap. Ganun din naman ako</i> before. <i>Siguro yung nagbago lang medyo mas </i>busy <i>ngayon kasi visible sa Princess and I</i> so <i>maraming kailangan gawin</i> and <i>parang wala din namang masyadong pinagbago. Ako pa rin yung dati. Hindi ko rin nararamdaman na may nagbago,</i>” she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Kathryn also shared how she does not let the pressure of work affect her mood. “<i>Siguro dahil na rin sa</i> personality <i>ko rin kasi </i>, super <i>pala</i>-smile <i>ako na tao. Parang pag-nginitian mo ako, mag</i>-smile back <i>din ako sayo! Parang ganun</i> (laughs). <i>At saka basta</i> smiley eyes <i>din ako siguro kaya akala nila parati ang saya saya ko kahit hindi naman ako masaya</i> (laughs). And <i>ayoko rin naman kasi ng </i>bad trip <i>kasi parang nakakahawa sa ibang tao. Gusto ko</i> chill<i> lang</i>,” she shared.</div><div><br/></div><div>Even with all the positive feedback that she has been getting from all her projects, Kathryn said that acting is still a big challenge for her. “<i>Mahirap pa din. Ang hirap</i>. Although <i>masasabi ko na</i> light <i>lang yung Princess and I, hindi siya</i> super light <i>kasi andun pa rin yung gusto naming bigat pero maba</i>-balance <i>namin ng</i> light. So <i>yun yung mahirap gawin,</i>” she explained.</div><div><br/></div><div>As the show ends its run this month, the <i>Princess and I star </i>revealed how she plans to reward herself for all the hard work she’s put into the series. “<i>Gusto ko sana mag</i> out of the country <i>nga eh, pero hindi ko pa nasabi kay mama. Yun ang wish ko kung papayagan ako ni mama.</i> Reward <i>ko sa sarili ko. Pero </i>since may <i>MMFF (Metro Manila Film Fest) pa hindi ko alam kung paano kami makakaalis. Gusto ko kahit </i>Hong Kong or Singapore, <i>masaya na ako promise. Kasi may</i> US tour <i>na kami tapos</i> Singapore <i>na for</i> ASAP <i>so gusto ko for vacation naman kung walang trabaho, yung mamimili ka lang para sa sarili mo at para sa family ko, ganyan.
