102312-coco_main.jpgInstead of catching up some much-needed sleep, Coco Martin said that his schedule is already loaded with work for the next few months. He still has some pending movie projects with Judy Ann Santos and Marian Rivera, but he will have to first finish a film opposite his Walang Hanggang leading lady Julia Montes. “Akala ko rin makakapagbakasyon ako. Wala pala. Marami pa akong gagawin. Marami akong hindi nagawa dahil sa teleserye. Baka unahin yung movie namin ni Julia tapos sana matuloy yung sa amin ni Marian (Rivera), pati kay Ms. Judy Ann (Santos),” he said in an interview with ABS-CBN reporters right after the Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat concert last Sunday, October 22.

Asked if it will be a big screen adaptation of Walang Hanggan, Coco revealed that the ABS-CBN creative team is planning a more exciting concept for him and Julia. “Pinagusapan namin kung ano ba ang hindi pa namin napapakita sa Walang Hanggan? Siyempre si Julia mag-18 years old na next year so mas matured na yung storya. Napakarami pa ng pwedeng ibigay ngayong wala ng limitasyon.

Coco admitted that it would be hard to top something as successful as Walang Hanggan. It wasn’t just an acting vehicle for him, but also an opportunity to grow as a person. “Siguro dahil sa show mas nahulma yung talent ko at pakikipagkapwa tao ko. Dati kasi mahiyain ako e. Ngayon natuto na ako maki-bonding sa kapwa artista ko.” The fact that he was able to establish a bigger name in the industry was something he refused to dwell on. “Hindi naman,” he humbly stated.

When told that he can be considered now as one of the important stars in ABS-CBN like Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz, Coco was quick to say that it wouldn’t do him any good to be overwhelmed by fame and status as an artist. “Thank you. Pero ako naman kasi sinisipagan ko talaga. Hindi ko iniisip yung mga ganong bagay. Gusto ko naka-focus ako sa project. Yun lang ang concern ko. Kung ano man ang status ko bilang artista hindi ko na iniisip yun.
