Erich Gonzales shares what she admires most about Mario Maurer

<div><img src='' alt='102112-erich_main.jpg' width='305' height='290' align='left' border='0'>As the October 31 play date for Suddenly It’s Magic draws near, Erich Gonzales said it’s been a big honor for her to be the love interest of Thai heartthrob Mario Maurer in Star Cinema’s newest romantic comedy. “Siyempre sobrang pasasalamat lang kaagad yung naisip ko dahil ever since yung Star Cinema pinagkakatiwalaan nila ako ng mga magagandang proyekto at para maging part ng ganito kalaking project, sobrang thankful lang talaga ako sa tiwala na binibigay nila sa akin. Nung sinabi nila sa akin na ito gagawa ako ng project, makakasama mo ang isang Thai actor. This is another blessing for me and ganito kalaking project, sobrang pasasalamat talaga ako. Inspired ako everyday sa lahat ng blessings, thank You, God,” she said.</div><div> </div><div>Apart from its local run, Suddenly It’s Magic is also scheduled to have international screenings as well. This added exposure might mean a possible career abroad for Erich. “Basta sobrang laking bagay na sa akin na mapasama ako sa movie na ito talaga. Sa totoo lang hindi ko naiisip yung mga ganyan, mag-shu-showing na siya dito muna so yun muna. Tungkol sa kung magka-offer sa ibang bansa, wala, wala pang ganyan. Pero ang alam ko ipapalabas siya sa ibang Asian countries,” she said.</div><div> </div><div>Through this project, Erich said she was finally able to experience working with foreign actors and crew members. “Kahit nung nandito kami sa Ilocos, merong mga Thai actors na dumating din, pero mas nakapag-bond kami dun sa Bangkok and hindi lang mga Thai actors ang na-meet ko, na-meet ko din yung girlfriend ni Mario na artista din doon. She’s also super nice. Nung nag-shoot naman kami sa iba’t ibang magagandang lugar sa Thailand sobrang thankful din ako dahil nung ako naman nandun, sila naman ang nag-alaga sa akin, si Mario at yung team niya. Binilhan din nila ako ng folding chair at ng mga pagkain so yun, sobrang alaga,” she recalled.</div><div> </div><div>During their shoot in Thailand, Erich got the chance to meet Mario’s longtime girlfriend Gubgib who is also an actress. Erich said she really admires Mario’s openness about his long-term relationship regardless of how it could have affected his career. “Heartthrob siya pero hindi niya tinatago na meron siyang girlfriend pero dito sa atin hangga’t puwede itatago mo kasi nga para yung mga fans gustuhin ka pa, para hindi sila mag-re-react. Pero siya, that’s one thing na talagang hinahangaan ko sa kanya dahil very open siya at nakita ko talaga kung paano niya alagaan yung girlfriend niya nung nag-visit sa amin. I told him kasi na kung may time yung girlfriend niya, I want to meet her. Sobrang ina-admire ko yung relationship nila and nine years na sila,” she shared.</div><div> </div><div>Even though she admits Mario is very attractive, Erich said they enjoyed having a purely professional relationship. “Kagaya ng lagi kong sinasabi, si Mario dream siya ng lahat ng babae kahit ng mga bekis. Sa sobrang kaguwapuhan niya talaga, nasabi ko na ito before na wala siyang pores talaga. Fresh na fresh. Lanta na kaming lahat pero siya parang he just woke up (laughs). Super fresh talaga siya. Napaka-guwapong nilalang,” she admitted.</div><div> </div><div>Erich said she understands that not every celebrity would be as open as Mario when it comes to their personal life, but she tries to be transparent as well. “Never naman ako nag-deny pag tinatanong naman ako sa mga past interviews ko. Ngayon I’m dating po. Kasi nasa sa tao naman yung mga ganyan, kung willing kang sabihin yun or not. Pero one thing about Mario kasi na sobrang hinahangaan ko nga, kasi hindi siya nag-de-deny talaga. Hindi naman ako nag-de-deny talaga, nagsabi naman ako that I’m dating a non-showbiz guy and over a year na so mas maganda quiet lang, hindi magulo. Yung non-showbiz.
