Slater Young on working in showbiz: 'It's not easy'

<div><img src='' alt='101612-slater_main.jpg' align='left' border='0' height='290' width='305'>Several months after he was declared <i>Pinoy Big Brother</i> Big Winner, Slater Young admitted that it was only recently that he felt the huge demands of a showbiz life. The aspiring actor will be part of the <i>teleserye A Beautiful Affair </i>top-billed by John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. “<i>Pinsan ako ni </i>Bea. As my character develops,<i> magkakaroon din ako ng</i> love team,” he revealed.</div><div><br/></div><div>He did not deny that he also felt pressured about their show, especially since this is his first <i>teleserye</i>. “First time <i>na isasalang ako na teleserye, primetime kaagad. Mahirap ‘yung</i> role [but] interesting <i>‘yung</i> role<i> ko</i>,” Slater revealed.</div><div><br/></div><div>“<i>Na-</i>try <i>ko na ‘yung mga </i>cameo-cameo [roles] <i>dati</i> [and] <i>ito ‘yung seryoso talaga</i>. It’s not easy. <i>Sobrang hirap noong una.</i> It’s getting easier <i>naman,</i> [<i>pero</i>] <i>siyempre kabado pa ng konti</i>,” he explained.</div><div><br/></div><div>Slater said that most of his scenes are with Bea and that he had to make a lot of adjustments. He also confessed that he gets nervous every time he acts with the actress. “<i>Nakakahiya pala. Si</i> Bea <i>ang palaging kaeksena ko</i>. Every time<i> na magkamali ako sobrang nahihiya talaga ako sa kanya. Sobrang bait niya na, </i>‘No, it’s okay. <i>Nagkakamali naman lahat.</i>’ Wow!” he shared. “<i>Sobrang </i>bait <i>niya</i> [<i>at</i>] <i>makulit din. Palagi niya akong tinutukso.</i>”</div><div><br/></div><div>Though a licensed engineer, Slater has decided to pursue a career in showbiz and he admitted that he is enjoying himself. “<i>Oo</i> decided<i> na ako</i> for now<i> ito talaga ang mundo ko masaya kasi. Masaya talaga na ako na kasama ako sa </i> ABS-CBN.”</div><div><br/></div><div>On a personal note, Slater said that he is currently single. “<i>Sa</i> showbiz<i> maraming</i> crush-crush <i>pero</i> I’m not dating anyone. I’m not going with anyone seriously.” When asked if it’s his decision to be single to focus on his work, Slater replied, “<i>Hindi naman. Kung meron di siyempre gusto ko naman din. Kung wala </i>okay <i>lang din, trabaho muna.</i>”</div>

Slater Young says that he is now slowly getting used to acting.
