He did not deny that he also felt pressured about their show, especially since this is his first teleserye. “First time na isasalang ako na teleserye, primetime kaagad. Mahirap ‘yung role [but] interesting ‘yung role ko,” Slater revealed.
“Na-try ko na ‘yung mga cameo-cameo [roles] dati [and] ito ‘yung seryoso talaga. It’s not easy. Sobrang hirap noong una. It’s getting easier naman, [pero] siyempre kabado pa ng konti,” he explained.
Slater said that most of his scenes are with Bea and that he had to make a lot of adjustments. He also confessed that he gets nervous every time he acts with the actress. “Nakakahiya pala. Si Bea ang palaging kaeksena ko. Every time na magkamali ako sobrang nahihiya talaga ako sa kanya. Sobrang bait niya na, ‘No, it’s okay. Nagkakamali naman lahat.’ Wow!” he shared. “Sobrang bait niya [at] makulit din. Palagi niya akong tinutukso.”
Though a licensed engineer, Slater has decided to pursue a career in showbiz and he admitted that he is enjoying himself. “Oo decided na ako for now ito talaga ang mundo ko masaya kasi. Masaya talaga na ako na kasama ako sa ABS-CBN.”
On a personal note, Slater said that he is currently single. “Sa showbiz maraming crush-crush pero I’m not dating anyone. I’m not going with anyone seriously.” When asked if it’s his decision to be single to focus on his work, Slater replied, “Hindi naman. Kung meron di siyempre gusto ko naman din. Kung wala okay lang din, trabaho muna.”
