Daniel Padilla promises that he will never let his growing popularity get to his ego.
After taking on the role of Gino in the hit Primetime Bida series Princess and I
, Daniel Padilla’s popularity has since boomed with magazine covers, jam-packed mall shows, a recording contract, and billboards along the country’s major highways. The teen heartthrob said he is trying not to let all this newfound fame get to him.
” he told Push.com.ph
After months of doing out-of-town mall shows, DJ said he has gotten used to the fan frenzy that happens whenever he goes on stage. Okay lang,” he said.
Even with his growing popularity, DJ said he still feels like the same person he was before joining showbiz. Dati nag-ji-jeep, nag-bu-bus at tricycle pa nga ako. Ngayon hindi na siyempre. Dati lang. Oo naman nami-miss ko yung ginagawa yun kasi adventure time namin yun ng mga kaibigan ko eh kaya parang ang saya,” he shared.
Now that he has become more recognizable to the public, DJ said he and his friends have changed to a new kind of “adventure.”
As a reward to himself for his hard work on Princess and I, DJ said he plans to finally buy himself his first car. The talented singer-actor shared that he already knows how to drive.
The 17-year-old shared that he never expected that his character Gino would go head-to-head with Enrique Gil’s character Jao for the affections of Princess Mikay.
Apart from working on his second album, Daniel said he still makes time to practice with his band Parking 5. “I make time for my band talaga kasi kailangan ko din eh, gusto ko talaga.
For his next project, DJ said he does not yet know what kind of role he would like to portray. Gusto ko maging superhero (laughs)” he joked.
