Coco Martin gave the credit to his fans for his highly successful showbiz career in 2011. Last year, Coco bagged numerous acting awards and gained recognition for his notable performances on TV and in movies. His launching teleserye, Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, in which he portrayed dual roles (twins Javier and Alexander), became a huge success and has established him as one of today’s most brilliant young actors. Of all his awards last year, probably the most notable one is his Aktor ng Dekada award given by Gawad Urian.
His indie film Noy (2010) was also chosen to be the Filipino entry to the Oscars and although it did not make it to the prestigious Hollywood annual awards, many film producers have noticed and hailed his performance in the project.
Coco is now focused on his next soap opera Walang Hanggan, the highly anticipated powerhouse primetime series which also stars, Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Julia Montes, Susan Roces, Helen Gamboa, Melissa Ricks, Paulo Avelino, and Joem Bascon.
The TV project also marks a first for the actor. “First time kong gumawa ng love story.
In terms of movies, Coco is still doing his movie team-up with Angeline Quinto. “Medyo matagal pa, eh kasi ginagawa pa namin itong soap tsaka sana matuloy na ‘yung movie namin ni Miss Judy Ann Santos.”
