Joey Marquez on Kris Aquino: 'She's very happy right now and I would like to be respectful'

Nauna nang bumalik sa Kapamilya network sina Richard Gomez, Carmina Villaroel at Janice de Belen. “(It’s) nice to be home,” ang bungad ng aktor. Sobrang excited daw niya at dream daw niya na makabalik ng ABS-CBN kaya naman nasorpresa siya nang bigyan siya ng offer. Gaya ng mga nagbalik-Kapamilyang artista, sinabi ni Joey na ang pagiging masaya bilang isang Kapamilya ang isa mga mga factors kung bakit naging madali sa kanya ang magdesisyong bumalik sa ABS-CBN. “Sabi nga natin kahit saan tayo umikot babalik din tayo sa bahay. I consider ABS-CBN as my first and my only home.” Aniya pa nami-miss raw niya ang masayang pakiramdam gaya nung Palibhasa Lalaki days. “I really miss it kasi we’re not really working, it’s more of a reunion every week. We’re not really reading the script but rather we’re doing it in our own experience, eh. So I guess it’s one of of making a successful show. It comes out naturally so people can relate to what you’re doing.” Sa ngayon nakatakdang gumawa ng talk show si Joey together with Carmina at Janice, ang Showbiz Inside Report. Sabi pa niya ang gagawin nilang show ay hindi lang pure showbiz dahil may halo itong pagka-investigative. Nang intrigahin sa kung sino ang kanyang dream interview, ang kanyang sagot ay, “Andami. Siguro actually isang dream ko rito si Ma’am Charo (Santos-Concio ABS-CBN president). I’d like to know her success [secrets] and probably emulate [her]. I’d like to know the people na how is it to be one successful person na giving more and getting less.” Wala naman daw siyang iiwasang tao sa kanyang bagong show. “As a talk show host, you have to be versatile. The personal emotions should be set aside. It’s the work that counts not the emotions. Anything that people would want to hear to probably know I’ll do it, regardless who it is.” Nang pinrangkang tanungin kung okay ba siya na ma-interview ang dating karelasyon na si Kris Aquino, ang sagot ni Joey, “Depende if the person allows. Ako naman willing kasi sabi ko naman it’s all work. There are no boundaries when it comes to work. I’d like to exceed the expectations of the network kung ano’ng gusto nilang gawin ko.” Hindi rin daw siya naiilang na makaharap ang Queen of All Media. “Trabaho lang naman eh, so lahat ng pwede kong interviewhin kung pumayag, thank you very much. Kung hindi I understand that. I’m not doing it for my personal interest, I’m doing it for the interest of the public, who would like to know what’s happening. Walang problema sa akin. Sabi ko it’s beyond my control kung sino’ng magi-guest dito. Sabi ko I will just abide what they want me to do in such na I can modify it for the viewers’ pleasure. It all depends on the other party kung gusto magpa-interview.” Nang usisain kung nagkaroon na ba ng chance na makapag-usap sila since nangyari ang kanilang kontrobersyal na paghihiwalay, ang sagot ni Joey, “I guess she’s very happy right now and I would like to be respectful. I am very happy for people who are happy today.”

Now that he is back to being a Kapamilya, Joey Marquez says he has no problem with interviewing Kris Aquino if given the task and the chance.
