Sam Milby says that Jericho Rosales is a step ahead of him when it comes to pursuing the Hollywood

Aalis ang actor this February para mag-audition at alam niyang matindi ang kompetisyon sa mga gustong magkaroon ng career doon. “This year gusto ko talagang seryosohin ‘yung trabaho ko kasi syempre ‘pag nasa (United) States very [rigid ang competition], nag-aaral talaga. You really have to work hard, ‘yun talaga ang gusto kong gawin this year,” paliwanag ni Sam. Medyo may konting kaba ang binata dahil baka kasi tumamlay ang kanyang career pagbalik niya sa Pilipinas galing sa Amerika. Kung natuloy raw sana siya sa teleseryeng Alta ay may iiwan siyang proyekto at mapapanood pa siya ng mga televiewers. Pero dahil hindi pa rin nagsisimula ang nasabing teleserye, umatras na si Sam at ipinalit si Diether Ocampo. “My last teleserye was last year, I did MMK (Maalaala Mo Kaya) pero that’s one day. Napakaimporante talaga nakikita [ka] ng tao sa TV,” aniya. Sabi pa niya, wala pa siyang nagagawang malaking project lately. “So it’s something that you do fear but at the same time it’s an opportunity that you cannot pass up. Opportunities like this don’t come for anyone.” Masuwerte nga raw si Sam dahil kung ang iba ay nahihirapan na makakuha ng agent para hanapan sila ng proyekto, sinuwerte siyang kunin ng isang kilalang ahensya sa US. “One of the hardest things is finding an agency and I have the one of the best agencies. Still depends on the audition [if I can get a project or not] but still the fact that the station really likes it (his audition) it’s really a big thing din. I can’t say that this will guarantee [anything.] but I’m being very, very hopeful. Pero ayoko ng iniisip ng mga tao anong project na gagawin ni Sam sa States. Wala pa naman pero just pray that I will get a project,” paliwanag niya. Isa pang isyu na ikinakabit kay Sam ay ang pagkukumpara sa kanya kay Jericho Rosales na sinusubukan ding mapasok ang Hollywood. Nakagawa na ng Hollywood movie si Echo na may titulong Subject: I Love You. Hindi naman pabor si Sam sa pagkukumpara sa kanila ni Jericho. “Hindi dapat ganun, eh. I mean expected naman ‘yun (comparison) but at the same time, no matter who it is, if anybody in the Philippines made it, it’s such a big thing. He’s actually ahead of me kasi may nagawa siyang Hollywood movie. So that’s a big thing already. So I’m very very happy for him and I hope that things will work out for him too pero ayoko ng comparison. No matter who makes it to another country that’s our success, the Philippines. Hindi dapat ganon.”

Sam Milby does not want to compete with Jericho Rosales and instead views the latter's success as a source of pride for the Philippines.
