Bunny Malunda is not planning on competing with PDA friends Bugoy Drilon and Laarni Lozada

090411-bunny_main.jpgThree years after joining Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2, Bunny Malunda got the chance to record an album, thanks to the help of Cebu-based German musicians Jaye Muller and Ben Patton. Bunny’s self-titled debut CD is now available in record stores with ten original tracks including a duet with her husband Chivas Malunda, also a PDA2 contestant. Bunny shared, “Very supportive si Chivas kahit noon pa. Tina-try niya akong samahan kapag may show. Wala naman akong nakikitang magiging problem namin. Okay lang sa kanya na magpa-sexy ako. Hindi naman ‘yun seloso.”

Bunny said she considers this album as her chance to shine as a singer, though she has no plans of competing with any artist most especially her fellow PDA talents Bugoy Drilon and Laarni Lozada. “Hindi ko naman sila planong lampasan. Hindi mo kasi kami pwede i-compare. Si Bugoy sa R&B, si Laarni naman biritera. Iba iba kami. Mga friends ko sila. Happy ako kung ano ang achievements nila. Pana-panahon lang ‘yan.

The 25-year-old Dumaguete native shared that she is very much happy about the achievement of her friends from PDA.

Bunny explained that her decision to take on a sexy rocker image as she is launched in the music world is very much supported by her husband. “Medyo rocker sexy ang dating. Ayokong over-the-top ‘yung pagka-sexy. Feeling ko kahit may asawa at anak na ako, for as long as maganda ‘yung music ko, susuportahan pa rin nila ako.”

Aside from singing, Bunny is also open to trying out acting in independent films, provided that she undergoes workshop first.
