090211-garyv_main.jpgAfter Gab Valenciano admitted that he was in a relationship with Isabel Oli, his father Gary Valenciano was asked by reporters if he approved of the actress dating his son. Gary said, “Isabel is a really nice person. When Gab introduces a girl to us we don’t judge naman agad. She’s consistent naman. Nakikita ko na she’s done a lot of good things for Gab. My son can make his own decisions na whether me and Angeli (Pangilinan, Gary’s wife and Gab’s mother) approve or not.”

Mr. Pure Energy also shared that he has met the family of Isabel and it was then that he realized why Gab fell in love with her. “With regard to pluses and minuses, I haven’t found any minus in her yet. I’ve met her family and they all seem to have been brought up in a good way. Now I see why Gab is so happy because he has been blessed with a girl like Isabel.”

Gary and Gab are currently collaborating on a TV special which is a tribute to Mr. Pure Energy’s 28 years in showbiz and a way to promote his new CD entitled With Love. Airing this September 4 at 10:45 PM on ABS-CBN, With Love, Gary Valenciano features various song and dance numbers mostly conceptualized by Mr. Pure Energy himself, with the help of his closest friends in the industry including his children. Eldest son Paolo Valenciano and his rock band will have a special performance, while Gab arranged some of the musical numbers, while youngest child and only daughter Kiana Valenciano will sing a duet with her father.

Other stars also taking the stage with Gary include Billy Crawford, Sam Milby, Yeng Constantino, Jovit Baldivino, Robin Nievera, Angeline Quinto, Marcelito Pomoy, and Maria Aragon. The TV special will chronicle the colorful and prolific career of Gary as a singer, dancer, songwriter, and producer. The special revisits some of Gary’s most loved hits like “Take Me Out Of The Dark,” “Di Bale Na Lang,” and “Shout For Joy.”

Gary said, “Nagpapasalamat talaga ako sa ABS-CBN kasi naman, after 28 years, sino ang magaakala na pwede pa akong magka-TV special? Hindi ganun ka-often ang paggawa ng TV specials ngayon. I’m honored and I had so much fun working on this. Also, kumuha sila ng iba’t ibang tao na naging parte ng buhay ko. Hindi ko alam kung paano nila ginawa ‘yun. You get to see who Gary is from the eyes of these people. Medyo kinakabahan na nga ako kung ilalaglag nila ako, ha ha ha!
