Xian Lim on Vice Ganda: 'Wala namang gamitan na nangyayari'

083111-xian_main.jpgXian Lim evidently has no qualms about Vice Ganda flirting with him on various TV programs and at concerts. The two first met last summer when Xian served as a guest judge on Showtime where Vice is a mainstay, and they instantly became a favorite wacky pair on the show. But how true is it that Xian is just taking advantage of Vice to gain popularity among viewers?

Wala namang gamitan na nangyayari,” the My Binondo Girl actor clarified. “Ang gusto lang namin is makapagpasaya ng mga tao. Kapag napapanood nila ‘yung mga harutan namin ni Vice, natatawa sila.

The popularity of their tandem has even reached the Twitterverse. Xian shared, “Kapag nababasa nila ‘yung mga kulitan namin sa Twitter, nage-enjoy sila. Ang dami ng mga mention. The people are really showing their love for us. May isang nagsabi na sobrang pagod na siya sa work pero nung napanood kami ni Vice tawa siya nang tawa. Ang importante is nakakapagpasaya kami ng mga tao.”

For Xian it’s all in the name of fun, but Vice seemed to be taking things seriously. The comedian was once quoted to have said that he is willing to buy him a car in exchange for his love. Xian just laughed when told about this. “Joke lang ni Vice ‘yun. I’m happy na we’re good friends. I’m happy na nagkakilala kami. We’re friends and I don’t think lalampas pa dun ‘yun.”

Was there a time that he encountered an indecent proposal from a gay admirer? “Hindi pa ako nakaka-experience ng ganun. If ever may dumating, I would decline politely. I wouldn’t be rude. Hindi naman kasi ‘yun ang preference ko.

The 22 year-old started out in showbiz as a model, then eventually did acting stints on various shows in ABS-CBN. Xian described his current role as one of the leading men of Kim Chiu in My Binondo Girl as one of the biggest breaks he has gotten so far.

He confessed that his journey to where he is right now was not an easy experience. “I came at a point pondered on what’s next for me. So while waiting for the next project, gumawa ako ng ibang bagay. I practiced playing the piano, other instruments. I love music din kasi. I also focused on honing my craft as an actor. It turned out well. Nagkataon na na-invite ako as a special judge sa Showtime and I was thankful kasi napansin talaga ako dun.”
