Piolo Pascual says his one-year anniversary plans with KC Concepcion are still a secret

082111-piolo_main.jpgAfter a surprise announcement on The Buzz, Piolo Pascual revealed that he and KC Concepcion will be celebrating their first year anniversary as a couple this coming November. The 34-year-old actor said that although he is cooking up special plans for the day, he will not divulge it to the public until after their anniversary. “Secret! (laughs) Whatever it is, siguro people will just know after. Mahirap naman ma-pre-empt ang ibang bagay ‘di ba? Kasi mas maganda pag sinasabi mo pagkatapos para hindi nauunahan ng intriga. Hindi nauunahan ng balita,” he said.

Despite their busy schedules, Piolo said that he and KC try their best to spend time together. “Nandun yan, kasama yun. It’s proper time management so whenever we get the chance to be together, be it in ASAP or in our personal time, we make sure that we find time for each other,” he added.

As a running enthusiast, Piolo also shared that he and KC used to work out together. “She’s into sports but she does yoga and she’s an ambassador of plana forma. She’s also very active. Before we would run together. Sabi niya babalik na siya,” he said.

Before he got into running, Piolo admitted that he used to find time to work out at the gym, even if it was after midnight. “I used to do that, ‘pag may trabaho. Kasi kailangan siyempre we have to look fit. Kailangan mo isingit ‘pag hindi kaya sa schedule mo. What I do is I find time, ‘pag may break like lunch break or ‘pag late ang call time, I really make sure na kasama siya sa schedule ko. Ayoko ng walang ginagawa eh. I love doing stuff. I always find things to do,” he explained.

After getting into running, Piolo said he has found a different kind of fulfillment in trying out different kinds of sports. The talented actor is also into badminton, swimming, and biking. “Sports is important because this is the only chance I can exercise and especially kapag nagkaka-edad ka, kailangan the more you age, the more fit you should be. And ako, kumbaga religion sa akin ang sports because ito yung outlet ko eh, I get to burn calories and at the same time, mas na-e-exercise yung katawan ko,” he said.

Polo admitted that he originally had plans to join the New York marathon and Ironman competition in Camsur earlier this year but conflicts with his work schedule made him postpone plans until next year. “Right now I’m also training for a triathlon but it requires more time for training so na-e-enjoy ko yung bike so as of the meantime, duathlon muna. Pero yung running hindi ko tinatanggal. I was going to go to the New York Marathon, but because of my schedule I couldn’t train so siguro if and when schedule permits magklakaroon ako ng chance para makaalis. Kasi ang goal ko talaga after last year, mag-full Ironman ako this year, or mag-individual ako half-Ironman and then magjo-join ng mga Asian runs kaso nga hindi kinaya ng schedule but I have a few runs before the end of the year. I also wanted to do bike this year sa Camsur pero walang oras,” he admitted.

Despite his numerous endorsements, which feature mostly health-oriented products or services, Piolo said there is non-conscious effort on his part to become a fitness icon more than a heartthrob. “Regardless of anything else, I’m a sports enthusiast. Hindi ko naman ini-aim na makilala as a sportsman. I just enjoy what I do. This is my outlet so pag wala akong taping, I make sure that I get to train in the morning before I leave. And I cannot stand na one week na wala akong ginagawang sports because ayokong maging idle,” he stressed.
