The golf tournament was held last July 21 at the Tagaytay Highlands and was attended by celebrities like Bea Alonzo, Zanjoe Marudo, Anthony Suntay, Monsour Del Rosario, Hyubs Azarcon, and Buboy Garovillo, plus Diether’s friends outside showbiz.

In an interview with Push.com.ph after the game, Diether shared his happiness over the success of the charity event.

He gave special thanks to his Guns and Roses co-star Bea who hadn’t slept but decided to take part in the golf tournament. “Wala pang tulog ‘yan. Galing kami pareho sa taping ng Guns and Roses. Madaling araw na, sa set namin sa San Juan, nagtitinginan na kami ni Bea na what time kaya kami makakauwi kasi bibiyahe pa kami papuntang Tagaytay. Kaya sobra ang pasasalamat ko sa kanya. Magandang birthday gift ito from her.”

Diether celebrated his birthday last July 19 and to express his gratitude for the continuous shower of blessings, the actor remained committed to his various charity programs. With this, plus his many showbiz projects, Diether barely has time to go out on dates. He admitted that being single for a long time can be difficult.

Though single, Diether said he still has so much to be thankful for, and he wants to devote his time for now to the many opportunities coming his way. “At this point in my career I feel blessed because of the good projects that I’ve been given. I pray for more projects to come. Pero hanggat kaya ko pang magsilbi sa maraming kabataan I will make myself available.”

He admitted that he’s the type of man who considers having a relationship an important part of life. “Mahalaga ang love life kasi inspirasyon mo ‘yun. When the right time comes na lang siguro. I’ve done many things that I’m not proud of. Siguro I’ll just be thankful na may chance pa rin akong itama ‘yung mga ‘yun.

Could it be that the actor has been “traumatized” by a series of failed relationships in the past that’s why now he is reluctant to get into a new commitment? For me, whatever experience I had in my love life, lahat ‘yun marami akong natutunan. It made me a stronger and better person. Kaya I embrace those kinds of experiences. Sabi ko nga sa mga friends ko, ‘It’s a good dry run.’”

Diether shared that he is still friends with his last girlfriend Rima Ostwani, though he doesn’t see any possibility of getting back together. “Nagkakausap pa rin kami pero not as often na. We’re friends. Walang pagsisisi. Part ‘yan ng learning process. Nalaman k
