Marcelito Pomoy admits that recording his first album is a difficult process

072111-marcelito_main.jpgPilipinas Got Talent Season 2 Grand Winner Marcelito Pomoy is working doubly hard on his debut album being released by Star Records which includes covers of popular duets such as “Hanggang Ngayon,” “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang,” “Forever,” and his winning piece, “The Prayer.” Marcelito admitted that recording his album is a difficult process as it takes longer than the usual time because he has to finish recording each song first with his female voice, then with his male voice. "Mahirap talaga. Alam mo ilang oras din kami matagal kasi inuna ko yung babae tapos isinunod ko yung lalaki tapos idinudugtong- dugtong na lang," Marcelito shared.

Despite his remarkable talent, detractors say that Marcelito's voice is nothing new as there a lot of talented people who can also sing like he does. Marcelito defended himself by saying he simply believes in himself. "Marami ka talaga maririnig na ganyan, ang gumagawa karamihan ay mga bakla pero alam ko sa sarili ko ang talent ko iba kaya ako kakaiba." His fans also see him as the icon of "doble kara." "Sobrang proud din po ako sa sarili ko dahil napunta sa akin ang talent na ito, salamat sa Diyos dahil binigyan niya ako ng talent na ganito. Dati sobrang hhirap ng buhay nung bata pa ako ulila ako. At binigyan niya rin ng kapalit ang paghihirap ko.”

PGT Season 3 opened right after Marcelito won season two. Push.com.ph asked if this makes him concerned that he might have a successor in a short period of time. "Kumbaga iba iba rin naman kami ng talent. Okay lang naman sa akin kung saan ako dadalhin ng tadhana at Diyos na ang bahala sa akin."
