Cristine Reyes says she is happy that the rift between Ara Mina and Aiko Melendez is over

071511-cristine_main.jpgAfter the success of Precious Hearts Romance Presents: Kristine last year, Cristine Reyes takes on another challenging role as Agnes Delos Santos, a simple woman with big dreams in the afternoon drama series Reputasyon. In her new series, Cristine will be working with Aiko Melendez for the first time. A few years back, Cristine’s older sister Ara Mina went out with Aiko Melendez’s ex-husband Jomari Yllana which led to a rift between the two actresses.

Cristine said she and Aiko did not let the issue get in the way of their working relationship. “First [time] kami nagkita ata sa storycon. Bumabati na ako tapos gusto ko na nga magkaroon na kami ng eksena together,” she shared during the Reputasyon presscon held last July 12 at the ABS-CBN compound.

The 22 year-old admitted that she is excited about the succeeding shooting days with Aiko. Ang sweet niya,” she added.

The Reputasyon star said she is relieved that she did not have to ask her sister Ara for permission before working on a project with Aiko.

Cristine also admitted that she admires Aiko for her professionalism on set and for the friendship she has shown off cam as well. Pero sa maikling oras na magkasama kami, okay naman nagkuwe-kuwentuhan kami and puro tawanan lang,” she shared.

Aside from Aiko, Cristine also admitted she finds it a blessing to get the chance to work with other veteran stars in Reputasyon like Jaclyn Jose, Lito Pimentel, Emilio Garcia, and Deborah Sun and with acclaimed directors Laurice Guillen and Celso Ad-Castillo who are also part of the cast. “Siyempre masaya ako kasi it’s another teleserye. I’m so very happy,” she said.

When asked how different her current role is as compared to Eva Fonda, Cristine admitted she took a whole different approach as Agnes in Reputasyon. Mas more of a love story and about family kasi ito,” she shared.

Under the direction of Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial, Reputasyon airs weekdays after Happy Yipee Yehey on ABS-CBN. For more updates, log on to www.abs-cbn.com or f
