Jericho Rosales is excited about honing his acting skills in New York

071311-echo_main.jpgWith the recent launch of I Dare You, Jericho Rosales has his hands full with taping episodes for the new reality show before he leaves for the US later this month. “Rumaratsada kami. Three times a week ang taping namin. Ang dami pang kailangan na episodes before I leave pero madami na rin kaming na-tape. And they might go to New York, baka mag-shoot kami ng episode dun kung ganun ako ka-spoiled sa kanila, he shared while laughing during the I Dare You presscon held last July 8 at the 55 Events Place in Quezon City.

After receiving a special award for Outstanding Achievement in Acting for the movie Subject: I Love You, at the Newport Beach Film Festival in California last month, Echo said it inspired him to check out opportunities for him abroad. The 31-year-old actor initially wanted to study filmmaking, but opted to take an acting course first this year. “Filmmaking dapat talaga this year pero nabitin ako sa time because may mga kailangan ako gawin. And then the Newport Beach Film Festival experience opened up new doors for me. Na-realize ko na kailangan ko mag-prepare. Who knows, maybe God wants me to go abroad and work there muna for a while. So siyempre kailangan ready ako ‘di ba? Mabilis lang, I’ll be back in September,” he said.

As a serious actor, Echo said that he is always continuously honing his craft to become an even better thespian. I’m so blessed. Masaya ako na binigyan ako ni Lord ng opportunity na makaalis habang may show na nangyayari like I Dare You,” he shared.

Although Echo denied that he is already working on a secret project abroad, the talented actor admitted he is looking forward to finding an agent who can help him land auditions in the U.S. “Wala talagang secret project. I’m looking for an agent now. We’ve been praying for an agent, in Malaysia and in New York. Sana makahanap kami,” he said.

Although he has his sights set on a chance at an international career, Echo said that does not mean he will turn his back on doing local projects. Kasi parang all the signs are there, biglang nagkaroon ng Newport Beach, yung film na ganito tapos and then may desire ako sa puso na ma-try ko yung abroad, ganyan,” explained the I Dare You host.
