Karylle shares why she wants to keep a low profile on her love life

060511-karylle_main.jpgKarylle is excited about the whirlwind of activity surrounding her life right now. Aside from recently receiving a Platinum record award for her album Time For Letting Go, she also flew to New York City to do an Independence day show with Jericho Rosales. This was just after a few days of getting settled into Singapore, where she and the rest of the cast of The Kitchen Musical will be billeted at a serviced apartment to undergo a series of trainings for the TV musical series.

Aside from bidding a temporary goodbye to her regular shows Showtime and ASAP, Karylle will also have to be separated for four whole months from her rumored boyfriend Yael Yuzon, whom she has been steadily dating since last year. Despite insistent questions regarding their relationship, Karylle chose to generalize her feelings about being away from the country until October. “Lahat, mam-miss ko lahat (laughs), kasama na po siya dun. Wala naman siyang sinabi sa pag-alis ko,” she shared during The Kitchen Musical presscon held last May 30 at D’Ace Plaza in Pasig City.

The 30-year-old singer-actress also explained why she has chosen to keep mum on the details regarding the status of her relationship with the Sponge Cola vocalist. “Before kasi, I overshared. And I think marami ring nagsawa, marami ring narindi. But it was my way of saying I’m okay with things and I try to be as open to people as I could be. But I learned from Tita Susan Roces, sabi niya mag-iwan ako para sa sarili ko and sa totoo lang, hindi ko sinunuod yun, binigay ko lahat. Lahat ng tinanong sakin, sige. Naglabas nga ako ng album ang title Time For Letting Go, talagang in-exhaust ko,” she stressed.

Karylle also admitted that out of all of her showbiz friends, she will miss her Showtime family the most. “Sa Showtime hindi ako nakapag-paalam ng maayos pero we did have a lunch after yung send-off nila sa akin last weekend. They’re the sweetest and I can’t believe they even danced to my song, okay lang ung girls pero sila Vhong Navarro, Billy Crawford, kahit si Kuya Kim Atienza sumayaw talaga. Sobra akong overwhelmed with the sweetness. I was able to talk to them pero hindi ako nakapag-babay talaga. So gagawin ko siguro dadaan ako sa kanila bago ako umalis,” she said.

Karylle also shared why the bonding between the hosts on the top-rated daily talent show is really tight. “Kasi araw-araw kami magkasama. Ibang bonding din kasi yung nagaganap dun eh. Unlike other shows, we’re there the whole time, from start to finish, kami yung nag-e-entertain sa crowd, nagkuwe-kuwentuhan kami with each other, so parang school yung masyado ka ng attached sa kanila and that’s been for two seasons now,” she added.

Karylle also admitted that despite being focused on The Kitchen Musical, she will still have time to pursue other interests while abroad. “Kasi, ang working hours namin is just 12 hours, so there’s a lot of time to write, to jog and to take dance class, whatever. So ang ganda lang ng mangyayari kasi kahit papano concentrate ka sa trabaho and yung mga extracurricular na work, yung mga sideline ko kumbaga,” she said.
