063011-kris_main.jpgKris Aquino remains positive about her brother President Noynoy Aquino’s satisfaction ratings even if they went down in the latest poll conducted by Social Weather Station. From June 3 to 6, the president’s net satisfaction rating posted a five percentage drop; from +51 (69 percent satisfied, 18 percent dissatisfied) last March, to +46 (64 percent satisfied, 18 percent dissatisfied).

“It’s is still super high. I mean if 7 out of 10 Filipinos still like you sa first year mo, kasi pina-explain namin ‘yan sa mga gumagawa ng survey na that’s still very bongga,” replied Kris during a recent visit on the set of her daily morning show, KrisTV. “I think sinabi ko sa mga sisters ko din na his weakness [is] he doesn’t self-promote. If we’re honest, may text blast everyday si Vice President (Jejomar) Binay of all his achievements. Lahat tayo nakakatanggap non. He spends for that. Meron kang pondo for that. Sabi ko sa mga kapatid ko, mag-ipon na tayo para may pondo tayo.”

The Queen of All Media also cited US Secretary State Hillary Clinton’s recent compliment of Noynoy’s administration in its endeavor to uplift the country’s situation. “Ako super proud ako don… Bongga talaga dahil America ang pumupuri sa atin, about human trafficking. Ito kasi we tend to forget bumagsak nang bongga ang standing natin in the international community in the past administrations because we were riddled with accusations of corruption, soft sa drugs, naging daanan daw tayo,” Kris explained. She continued that under his brother’s administration, the government was able to address human trafficking. “’Yung mga papeles ng mga nagtatrabaho abroad malinis na,” she said.

Despite the criticisms towards her brother, Kris expressed her confidence in Noynoy’s efforts to shoulder his responsibilities for the country. “When you get that feeling na at least may effort na na-reward naman I don’t feel bad because you’re coming from near zero. So from near zero to where you are now, malaki na ‘yon. Of course I understand the level of impatience from a very human point of view.”

Kris continued, “Me personally I see the level of work. Sinagot ko na dun sa isang interview also, the difference now than before, you would see your president (former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo) screaming or pinapagalitan binibigyan ng dressing down in public ‘yung mga officials working for her. ‘You’ve never saw that in Noy because it’s really not his way. Privately niya talaga pinagsasabihin it doesn’t mean na kinukunsinti at hindi pinagsasabihan.”
