John Lloyd Cruz says he has nothing more to ask for on his birthday

061911-jlc_main.jpgAs he turns 28 this coming June 24, John Lloyd Cruz said there is nothing more he could ask for on his birthday this year. Fresh from a month-long vacation in Europe with girlfriend Shaina Magdayao and his family, Lloydy enjoyed a vacation visiting scenic locations in Rome and Venice with his loved ones.

For his birthday, he says he wants to keep the celebration as low-key as possible. “Probably maliit na party lang with my closest friends and my family. Walang engrandeng plano. A very simple and intimate party lang,” he admitted during the Star Cinema trade launch held last June 16 at the ABS-CBN compound.

The 27-year-old actor also showed his love for his family by dedicating his birthday wish for them as well. “Wala na akong birthday wish na mahihiling pa aside from siguro bukod lang yung good health for myself and for the rest of my family, kasi yun yung pinakamahirap sa lahat eh. You can have everything in the world, pero kung may sakit ka or kung may karamdaman ka, parang nawawalan ng halaga lahat. So I just want to be able to enjoy my work, kung ano man yung kinikita natin sa trabaho natin gusto ko ma-enjoy ko rin at ma-enjoy ng family ko at ng mga kaibigan ko. And yung ma-i-share ko yung blessings na nakukuha ko. Para ma-continue kung paano ako nabe-bless so I can be a blessing to others,” he explained.

When asked what gift he thinks Shaina plans to give him this year, Lloydy gave a playful answer to the press. “Wala. Matagal pa kasi. 24 pa birthday ko. Wala akong mahihiling sa kanya, kotse lang na bago (laughs). Joke lang yun. Hindi naman kailangan yun,” he said.

On gifts he was considering on buying for himself, Lloydy admits he has been toying with the idea of getting a life insurance plan. “Hindi pa naman kumukuha pero ini-entertain ko yung idea na yun. Pero wala pa kasi kakagaling ko lang sa Europe so wala ng mahihiling pa. Gustuhin ko man nahihiya na ako para sa sarili ko (laughs),” he added,

Although news that he and Imortal co-star Angel Locsin would be pushing through with a movie project soon, Lloydy says he has yet to get the final word on the project. “Pinag-uusapan pa so as of the moment, wala pa akong alam. I’d rather talk about it ‘pag binigay na yung final word,” he said.

Lloydy also refused to comment on any updates re the reported movie project, which he was set to do with other Kanto Boys member Luis Manzano, Vhong Navarro, and Billy Crawford. “May mga pagbabago and wala ata ako sa posisyon na mag-sabi or magsalita about the changes na nangyayari. Mas okay siguro kung Star Cinema ang magsabi,” he said.

While he is scheduled next month to do shows in London and Canada, Lloydy still brushed off rumors that one of the reasons for the delay in the project is his busy schedule. “This is not just about me ano. Definitely madaming factors kung bakit nabubuo ang isang project or hindi matutuloy. Ako, parte lang ako nun pero wala akong kinalaman dun,” he added. The talented heartthrob said he enjoyed being reunited with the Kanto Boys during their production number last weekend on ASAP. “I enjoyed it very much. Na-miss namin yung being on stage kaming apat kasi ngayon bihira na yun mangyari kasi nga kaming apat mismo, may iba’t iba kaming ginagawa,” he said.
