061511-direkricky_main.jpgAccording to a special report from Showbiz News Ngayon last night, former actor and now TV director Ricky Rivero was admitted at the Phillipine Heart Center yesterday at 4:20 AM due to multiple stab wounds by suspected robber Hans Ivan Ruiz. Rivero, who had a total of 17 stab wounds, was able to drive himself to the hospital despite his injuries. It is said in the filed police report that the director met the 22-year-old on the social networking site Facebook a few months ago.

PO3 Antonio Torrente, who is handling the investigation of the case, said that Rivero and Ruiz had a heated argument at the victim’s apartment in Masikap St., Brgy. Pinyahan, Quezon City. “Nung sinakal daw siya (Rivero) ng tuwalya sinabi sa kanya ibigay mo na sa akin yung pera, kelangan ko, may sakit ako.” Rivero was still able to fight off Ruiz and run outside the house, to his car.

The director has now been transferred to the St. Luke’s Medical Center while the suspect was apprehended by baranggay officials when he returned to clean up the crime scene. Found inside his bag are Rivero’s cell phone and laptop. The knife used to stab the director was also found on Ruiz. “Inaamin ko na po siguro na ako po ang sumaksak pero ‘di ko po alam kung ano talaga nangyari,” Ruiz explained behind prison bars.

Ruiz was bought to St. Luke’s by Asst. Prosecutor Noel Mingao for the inquest of the case. “Kapag may recommendation, I recommended the filing of a separate crime of frustrated murder and theft,” Mingao revealed.

Princess Bagay, Rivero’s sister was also interviewed by SNN and she says although her brother sustained wounds near his heart and lungs, he is now stable. “Okay naman siya, liquid intake lang, stable naman siya.
