Cathy Garcia-Molina denies any diva behavior from KC Concepcion on set

061511-direkcathy_main.jpgIn her latest Star Cinema movie Forever and a Day, director Cathy Garcia-Molina got to work with KC Concepcion for the very first time. And then one day I saw her sa bahay ng nanay niya and I saw a beautiful, witty girl. When I watched her first film, sabi ko, ‘Merong something itong batang ito,’” she recalled. Direk Cathy admitted she set the rules with KC during their first working day for the film. “I told her I would never treat her as the daughter of the Megastar,” she revealed.

The Forever and a Day director said that even though she was excited about the project, it was a challenge to work with a new love team. “I hoped to work with her, I really did, I really hoped. And it took me many years pa bago ko makatrabaho si KC and the expectations were met. In fact, exceeded my expectations. And wala akong narinig. Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Whatever it takes, mapalabas ko lang kung anong meron ka, gagawin ko’ and she agreed. Because she agreed, she had to suffer. And I hope makita niyo yung result sa pelikula because I am very happy and I respected her more than ever in this film,” she shared.

Direk Cathy also shrugged off any indication that KC showed any diva-like behavior on set. So na-deglamorize siya.

The Star Cinema auteur also said that KCs relationship with Piolo Pascual did not pose as a problem for the movie, which pairs KC with Sam Milby. In fact, she never even had to discuss any issue regarding her main actress’s personal affairs. “Hindi ko alam na mag-jowa sila eh. When we started the film, hindi ko alam tapos basta nalaman ko na lang. I never knew, akala ko chismis. Para fair sa kanila, I needed to hear it from them. I think they’re matured enough to know that when you get to the set, you become your character. Tsaka kaibigan ko si Piolo so wala pong issue.”

Direk Cathy admits that she demands professionalism from all the actors she works with. At alam nila yun so alam nilang masungit ako eh. So tinanggal ko yung whatever you call it. Masungit ako sa set. Pero I am very friendly on the set.”

Direk Cathy also revealed there was even a time that KC was reduced to tears after she was reprimanded on the set. As in nasigawan ko. Sigaw talaga. Eh ang daming tao. Narinig ng mga tao. Nung rehearsal na naginginig yung boses niya, sabi ko naku napahiya ko yung bata,” she a
