Luis Manzano on Jennylyn Mercado: 'We are definitely dating'

052311-luis-main.jpgLast Saturday on Entertainment Live, Luis Manzano finally shed light on speculations regarding his rumored relationship with Jennylyn Mercado. At the start of the interview, he was asked straightaway if he is indeed dating Jennylyn and he quickly replied ‘Yes.’

Luis revealed that it all started when they became close during mixed martial arts classes. He and Jennylyn regularly train together at the same gym and started discovering things about each other. "Dati na kaming nagkasama sa mga out-of-town shows, mga raket, pero nagkasama talaga kami ni Jen when we started training together. Kung baga everything started when we started training together, Muay Thai tsaka Jujitsu." He then shared that he has always admired Jennylyn's beauty. "Kahit nasa kabila pa lang si Jen I've always been a fan of her beauty. Kahit nung nakita ko siya sa Legazpi pa 'yun, e. I was hosting a pageant. Sabi ko sa kasama ko ang ganda niya, 'no? Ang ganda niya, napakasimple ng beauty niya."

There came a time where Luis realized that he wants to be with Jennylyn and he wanted the friendship to turn into something more special. "Siguro nung nagkakasama kami, parang hinahanap-hanap ko yung tawa niya. Nagkakasama kami sa rolling, sa Jujitsu, hindi nga biro yung ginagawa namin, e. Bagsakan yun, kung anu-ano pero still, you look forward to that kahit medyo alam mo na sakit ng katawan ang ending para sa hapon na 'yun." The word "exclusivity" though is not yet official between the two of them because they want to avoid rushing things. "Yung exclusively dating, hindi pa fully tackled 'yan sa aming dalawa, hindi pa namin talaga nauupuan 'yan at napag-uusapan. Pero siguro sa puntong ito, so far, everything has fallen into place. So siguro, yung pagiging exclusive, whether it be unspoken na lang sa amin or kailangan pag-usapan, isa na lang yun sa mga hakbang na kailangan namin pagdaanan kung ano man ang namamagitan sa amin. "

After the revelation, Luis grabbed the opportunity to address and clarify all the issues thrown at him. First is the Boracay issue, wherein reports say that he followed Jennylyn there and they were spotted cozy together. "Once and for all, klaro ito, I think before Holy Week nag-Boracay siya with her son and kanyang mommy tapos nakabalik na siya, kami naman nag-Bora (referring to his co-host, Nikki Gil) for Myx, wala si Jen 'dun. Pero siguro after two days, sumunod si Jen with her family, kasama niya mga tita niya."

Second is the negative comments posted by internet and social networking site users, questioning why Luis chose to link himself with a single mother like Jennylyn. Luis spoke in defense not only of Jennylyn but also his own mother, Batangas Governor Vilma Santos, who was once a single mother when she met her husband, Senator Ralph Recto. "I don't take it as a bad thing, definitely, any child is a blessing sa mga buhay buhay. For some na nababasa na napaka-negative na tao na ini-insinuate na napakasama naman niyang ina at her age at mahirap makipagrelasyon sa taong may anak na. Ang masasabi ko lang sa ganun e di sana para na ring hinusgahan ang mommy ko, dahil nung pumasok si Tito Ralph (Recto) sa buhay namin, my mom had me na. So parang kung hinuhusgahan niyo si Jennylyn for having a son at nagkataon na may papasok na sa buhay niya, 'di parang hinusgahan niyo ang mommy ko which is very very unfair. Siguro naman my mom raised me well, siguro hindi ako naging pabigat, kung nakita niyo naman si mommy at Tito Ralph ngayon so far, so good naman siya sa akin. Sana naman hindi gamitin 'yun
