Alessandra de Rossi may not have been awarded a best actress trophy yet but Alessandra de Rossi is not frustrated without it.
Alessandra de Rossi is grateful for the chance to walk the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival for her indie movie Busong
(Palawan Fate). She said that she is dedicating her latest achievement to her mom. “Since siya lang naman ang tuwang-tuwa sa pagiging artista ko,
” she joked.
She also expressed her gratitude to Busong
’s director Aureus Solito for choosing her to be the lead in the film. “Binigyan niya ako n
g chance na makatrabaho siya. Sinabi ko nga na
very first na
indie film na pinanood ko
[was] Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros
. That was five years ago at may dyowa pa ko no’n.
Alessandra said that to get a Best Actress award for her performance in her indie movie will be a big plus. “’Yun na lang ang kulang sa
career ko: ang
best actress award. Wala ako nun, eh. Puro
best supporting lang
,” she revealed. “Bilang ‘yan lang talaga ang naging landas ko
, best supporting actress, pero kung magkakaroon ng
best actress ang ganda kayang i
-display non sa bahay!
However, the actress clarified that she does not feel frustrated even if she has not yet won the said award. “Hindi naman siya
frustration.
,” she explained.
She said that her role in Busong
is a welcome change from the usual antagonist roles that she portrays. Alessandra‘s role is a metaphor of Palawan. Her character was born a lame with wounds all over the body that seem to spread every time the residents of Palawan destroy its natural resources.
Since her movie tackles karma, the actress was asked if she believes in the concept. “Oo naman. Nasa
Bible natin ‘yan, ‘di ba? Kung anuman ang gagawin mo, babalik talaga sa ‘yo maliit at malaki man
