Judy Ann Santos shares how she lost 12 pounds in less than a month on her new diet

051111-juday_main.jpgCurrently preparing for the launch of her new Kapamilya show Junior MasterChef Philippines, Judy Ann Santos revealed that she is losing her post-pregnancy weight with the help of the Cohen diet. During her launch as the newest endorser of Del Monte Pineapple last April 30, the 32-year-old actress admitted that the new diet, which she was trying for the first time, has already helped her lose as much as 12 pounds within the first three weeks of being on the diet. According to the Cohen’s lifestyle clinic official website, the diet is an individually-tailored program based specifically on blood test results that helps its participants rapidly lose weight in a safe and healthy way. Juday had previously admitted she would be going on a diet, but did not immediately disclose other details. Now, she is more open about how she is losing weight. “Diet ako talaga. Nag-ko-Cohen diet ako ngayon. It’s a diet na based on your blood type and its really working for me. Alam mo, yung cost niya it’s not that bad because yung babayaran mo lang naman is for the whole six months of the program already,” she said.

Juday said she is still allowed to eat a wide variety of food with some restrictions. “For me, I can’t eat pork. Some fishes lang, hindi ako puwede ng salmon, sea bass. ‘Pag sa poultry, chicken and turkey lang. I eat the breast part. ‘Pag sa meat, veal and steak lang. May mga choices at list of vegetables na puwede rin ako but it’s not like South Beach [diet] na hindi ka na puwede ng fruits. So allowed ako ng mga two fruits a day. Tapos five crackers a day. And I’m allowed to have three sodas a day. So it’s really not that bad,” she explained.

After giving birth to baby Lucho last year, Juday said she took the opportunity to really enjoy different kinds of food after years of being on a constant diet. “When I got pregnant, I was 116 or 120 pounds. When I gave birth, I ballooned to 161. Nag-breastfeed pa ako. Parang feeling ko buong buhay ko naman nagpapapayat ako ‘di ba? Eh nanaganak naman ako so ibibigay ko na ito sa sarili ko. At saka ang sarap kumain eh. Puwede ko bang ikaila sa sarili ko yun? So nung na-enjoy ko na yung pagkain, pinadaan ko muna ang Christmas, pinadaan ko muna ang New Year nung nanganak ako. nung dumaan ang New Year, sabi ko padadaanin ko muna ang Valentines day. Ng dumaan ang Valentines day, sabi ko hindi ko na paaabutin ang holy week. Bago nag-Holy week, nag-start na ako mag-diet kasi mahabang proseso din bago ako makapag-simula ng Cohen eh. Pero after Valentines, nag-pa check na ako sa clinic ng Cohen. May one month pa bago ako nakapag-simula. So yung one month na yun, sabi ko e-enjoyin ko na kumain kasi ‘pag nag-Cohen na ako, goodbye sarap,” she said.
Despite her diet’s restrictions on certain food items, Juday said she does not feel that she is depriving herself of food unlike before. “This diet naman, it’s really up to you to make it work. Kailangan committed ka talaga 100%. Nung nag-start ako, siguro kung 100% committed ako, I could have lost a lot more weight. It’s just that nung first week ko, I was thinking, ‘Kaya ko ba? Oo sabi ko kaya ko tapos napansin ko nung meron na akong pasingit-singit na kinakain na iba, naku naku hindi pa pala ako masyadong handa (laughs)’,” she recalled.
