The Pak! Pak! My Dr. Kwak! Star says he will be more visible in the Kapamilya network.
It’s been more than 16 years since he last worked with Star Cinema, but veteran comedian Vic Sotto admits he feels right at home being inside ABS-CBN during the grand presscon for his latest comedy Pak! Pak! My Doctor Kwak!
Held last April 7 at the Dolphy Theater. The 56-year-old star, who last starred in the 1994 Star Cinema movie Hindi Pa Tapos Ang Labada Darling!
with Dina Bonnevie also admitted this is just the start of his renewed relationship with ABS-CBN. “I’m happy na balik pamilya ako. Bata pa ako nung ginawa ko yung Hindi Pa Tapos Ang Labada Darling! kasi bata pa yung mga anak ko nun. Eh ngayon nagsipag-asawa na sila. Hindi naman ako bago sa
Star Cinema.i didn’t feel awkward or anything. I am honored to be working with Star Cinema again and I know this won’t be the last project I’ll be working on with Star Cinema. Siyempre
. I’m just very glad that I’m back and I’ll be back for more,” he admits.
The movie, which stars Vic as Angelo, a fake faith healer who gets smitten with Cielo, played by Bea Alonzo, an intern doctor who is angry at his fake faith-healing business. The movie also stars top comedians Pokwang, Wally and Jose as well as promising child actors Zaijan Jaranilla and Xyriel Manabat which rounded out the main cast. Even during the planning stages, despite being visible in a rival network, Vic admits there was no problem with him crossing over to do this project. ”This is originally Star Cinema’s proposal. Sila ang nag-alok sa akin
if I wanted to do a movie with them.
. So walang naging balakid sa mga naging usapan at plano, sa
conceptualization ng proyekto, sa
casting at sa takbo ng storya. Pati sa
playdate. Everything went smoothly. At ako’y natutuwa na ginawa ko ito,
” he says.
Vic also says he is happy that there was no tension on set despite the cast of the movie coming from rival networks. “I feel good about it na walang
network network. Walang kalaban. Walang kompetisyon. Yun naman ang dapat eh, ang pagkakaisa. Yung pagkakaibigan
. It doesn’t really matter if your ABS-CBN or GMA or TV5. What matters is maganda yung nagiging proyekto. Kasi para naman sa buong bayan ito, hindi naman para sa pamilya lang
or sa kapuso
or kapatid lang. para ito sa buong bayan. Para sa mga kababayan,
” he shares.
Vic also admitted that he will also be more visible in the Kapamilya network because he and Bea will be busy promoting Pak! Pak! My Doctor Kwak!
“I’ll be guesting in ASAP, The Buzz
and TV Patrol
. It’s exciting. It feels different. And it’s not just exciting, kasi parang
it’s a whole new experience for me. Bea is guesting rin sa
