Mariel Rodriguez describes life with husband Robin Padilla after their wedding in India.
Six months after they got married in India, Mariel Rodriguez shared that she feels like she and husband Robin Padilla are still in the honeymoon stage. “We’re good, we’re very, very good. Wala namang nabago. Gusto ko
honeymoon stage, kailangan hindi mawawala,”
Mariel said. She also shared that she learned that her husband is very spontaneous and does not stick to routines. She added that she admires her husband for being very devoted to his work.
Mariel also described Robin as very sweet. Recently, while they were promoting their movie Tum: My Pledge of Love
, Mariel mentioned that she was craving for mangoes and Robin had mangoes sent to her during rehearsals for Happy Yipee Yehey!
“It’s really the little things, ‘yun talaga ang nagiging
big things, sobra siyang nakikinig,”
she beamed. As for having a baby, Mariel said that they are not in a rush and said that they are still enjoying their time together.
Mariel also cleared up rumors that Robin feels suffocated because of her. “Kasi
he always says that he likes the way I love him and during the start of our relationship, I said he allows me to love him the way I want to love and he loves me the way I want to be loved. So ‘pag nagbago yon mahirap yata. Ganun kami,”
As for being a stepmom to Robin’s daughters Queenie and Kylie, Mariel said that they treat each other more as friends. She explained that they have many things in common such as a love for fashion, even lending each other clothes. “Hindi lang kami pwedeng maghiraman ng
shoes kasi mas malaki ang paa nila sa kin. Basta ‘pag may kailangan sila andito lang ako.”
After reports came out that Liezl Sycangco, Robin’s ex-wife, wanted her daughters back in Australia to be with her, Mariel tried to clear up the matter. “Alam mo mahal na mahal ni
Liezl ang mga anak niya. Bilib na bilib talaga ako sa kanya
as a mother,” explained Mariel. “Wala akong masabi, sobra talaga niyang mahal ang mga anak n’ya wala siyang ibang hangarin kundi ang ikakabuti ng mga anak niya.”
She continued that Liezl did not say that she wanted her kids back in Australia, but only wanted them to get in touch with their faith again, which is Muslim. “So ‘yung sa kanya
(Liezl) it’s just a reminder sa mga anak niya, hindi naman niya ipinagbabawal kasi alam ko
very supportive siya kay Queenie nung nagkukuwento si
