040811-kean_main.jpgCallalily vocalist Kean Cipriano has been chosen to play one of the leading men of Eugene Domingo, along with Mula sa Puso actor JM De Guzman, in the movie Ang Babae sa Septic Tank which is an entry in this year’s Cinemalaya Film Festival. The film is based on the story written by Here Comes The Bride scriptwriter Chris Martinez. In an interview with Push.com.ph, Kean shared that he is very excited to be doing Ang Babae sa Septic Tank. “This is my first movie kaya I’m very excited. Kasama rin ang buong Callalily kaya excited kami lahat. Bagong chapter for Callalily.”

From performing on stage with his Callalily buddies, Kean has decided to give acting a try, starting out in a teleserye, eventually leading to his very first movie. The 23 year-old said he doesn’t consider acting a totally different world from music. “Iba lang siguro ang acting because you have to act. But basically ang acting and music are just the same in the sense na when kami sa band we do shows we perform, and acting is also performing. ‘Yun siguro ang kagandahan kaya from music meron kang konting maia-apply sa acting.”

In the same interview, the rest of Callalily expressed their full support for Kean’s decision to do showbiz. “Walang problema. Pinapalawak lang namin ‘yung mundo para sa banda. Bago ito para sa amin, experimental. Tight naman kami lahat.” Kean also added that all of them in the band support each other like real-life brothers. “The band is not just about the music. It’s about brotherhood. We are a family and we love each other very much. Kung ano man ‘yung ginagawa ko, gusto ko sana kasama sila.”

Kean revealed that they are already in the process of coming up with a new album as a treat to their fans who’ve supported them in the past years. “We’re actually working additional songs for our upcoming new album. We’re under Viva Records now. New label, so new experience, new world. Excited kami kasi madaming kaming pinagdaanan in the past year na pwede naming ma-apply sa paggawa ng kanta. Excited kami sa kalalabasan ng album.”

There’s a buzz that Kean is also being eyed to become one of Vice Ganda’s leading men in the latter’s next feature film following last year’s box office hit Petrang Kabayo. Kean and Vice became close when Kean got a judging stint on Showtime. The singer said that he is just surprised at the clamor for him and Vice to star in a movie. “I heard na may movie daw with Vice pero wala pa akong details.”

In case the project materializes, is Kean willing to do a kissing scene with Vice? “Ang weird na may mga nagsasabi na ng ganun e wala pa naman details ‘yung movie. Depende kung kailangan talaga ng kiss. Kung kailangan sa story, why not? I know showbiz na sagot ‘yun pero ‘yun ang totoo. Kaibigan ko naman si Vice. Kahit ano. Go with the flow na lang.”
