Vic Sotto on Pia Guanio: 'We're very, very good friends'

042911-vic_main.jpgVic Sotto got a nice birthday gift when his movie with Bea Alonzo, Pak Pak, My Dr. Kwak, earned P15 million on its opening day. “Maraming salamat, although I was not really expecting na magiging ganun ang response ng mga manonood,” the comedian began in an interview last April 28 on his birthday.  “From the feedback I’ve been getting, nagustuhan talaga nila ‘yung pelikula at talaga namang siniguro namin it will provide entertainment, it will provide good values. ‘Di lang sa mga bata pati sa mga magulang sa mga lolo’t lola. In other words para sa buong pamilya. We were able to do just that dun sa response na natatanggap namin.”

The actor-host also credited the entire cast and crew of the movie for the success of the movie. “I would like to give back the credit to the whole cast. Everybody did a good job. Lahat tayo ay nagtulong para sa ikatatatagumpay at pinakaimportante sa lahat, eh ‘yung magandang feedback na ating natatanggap na talagang tawa sila nang tawa. Pagdating sa ending biglang may nag-iiyakan sila, tapos tawanan uli.” He continued that it felt good to know that viewers liked the film and that he was able to come up with a project that was able to make the viewers forget about their problems even for just for a brief moment.

As it was his birthday during the time of the interview, Vic was asked by the press if Pia Guanio (with whom the comedian had supposedly broken up with) gave him a birthday present. “Meron. ‘Di naman nawawalan, araw-araw may regalo naman siya sa akin,” he replied. “We’re very, very good friends.”

Vic also joked that his brother Tito Sotto and good friend Joey de Leon need not give him gifts for his birthday. “Alam mo kaming tatlo hindi na kami nagbibigayan, nagyayakapan na lang kami at nag-a-I love-you-han na lang kami. Mas higit ‘yun kesa sa materyal na gift. Gift of love sa amin.”

At this point his life, Vic said that he could not ask for anything more in his life. He said he would rather count his blessings rather than focus on what is missing in his life. “Wala naman akong masyadong hinihiling sa buhay ko basta kung ano ‘yung nandyan I make it a point na ini-enjoy ko. Sa trabaho ini-enjoy ko. ‘Yung mga success na ating natatanggap, I try to give back to people, ganun lang. ‘Di ako palahanap, ‘di ako palahingi.
