Renz Fernandez doesn't want his mother Lorna Tolentino to remarry

040311-renz_main.jpgHindi pwede!” was Renz Fernandez’s quick answer when asked if he is okay with his mother Lorna Tolentino getting married again. Renz’s father and Lorna’s husband, respected actor Rudy Fernandez, passed away in 2008. In her interviews since Rudy’s death, Lorna said that she is not closing her doors on the possibility of finding love again, but admitted that she is not yet ready to have a boyfriend for now.

Renz went on to say that there’s no need for their mother to have a man in her life because he and older brother Rap Fernandez have promised to take care of her. Even when he gets married and has his own family someday, “Sa malapit lang kami titira para pwedeng magkita kita araw-araw,” he said.

Renz joked that any man who would dare to be with his mother would have to pass the ultimate test.

Following Rap’s acting debut in Buhawi Jack, Renz also ventures into showbiz via the final episode of Your Song presents Kim as the leading man of Kim Chiu. The 25-year-old newbie said that his mother is his manager at the moment with the help of veteran publicist Lolit Solis. One important acting tip that Renz got from his mother, dubbed as the Grand Slam Queen, “Isang magandang tip ni mama sa akin, dapat relax lang.

Renz acknowledged the perennial challenge that every showbiz child experiences is being compared to their famous parents.

The “bunso” of Lorna and Rudy easily won the attention of reporters with his good looks, and is said to possess the qualities of a leading man. He has a striking resemblance to his half-brother Mark Anthony Fernandez (incidentally, Renz once played as the young Mark in a movie Matimbang Pa Sa Dugo which also starred Rudy.) “It’s an honor na maikumpara kay Kuya Mark. Sobrang gwapo nun. Gwapings nga siya, ‘di ba?! Ha ha ha!

Since he still considers himself as a newbie in the business, Renz said he is still unsure on the exact career path he wants to take: action like his father or drama like his mother. Now that he has gotten his college diploma and is ready for showbiz, Renz said he is open to trying any role available, even those that requires him to go sexy.
