041711-chavitjomari_main.jpgIlocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson said that he’s over being disappointed with the lack of support from the friends of his son Congressman Ronald Singson who was recently jailed in Hong Kong due to drug trafficking. One of the people he was referring to was actor Jomari Yllana who happens to be Ronald’s business partner in Fearless Productions—the production house which brought international artists such as David Cook, David Archuleta, and Usher for concerts in Manila. Wala na akong alam sa kanya,” said the older Singson in a recent interview with Push.com.ph.

Although he admittedly felt bad about it at first, Chavit claimed that he already accepted the fact that he couldn’t expect everyone to be on their family’s side when they needed help the most.

On the brighter side, there were those who visited Ronald in Hong Kong as soon as they heard about what happened. “Ah, oo naman, marami siyang totoong kaibigan. In fact, marami na ang dumalaw noon. Ngayon, maski gustuhin nila, mahirap dumalaw dahil hindi lahat ng araw pwede siyang bisitahin.

Chavit further shared that even his other family members have limited contact with his son due to the strict visitation rules in Hong Kong prison.

Despite the trouble and embarrassment that the whole issue has brought to their family, Chavit remained optimistic about his son’s incarceration. “Aba, yes, I’m sure he will be a better person pagkatapos ng lahat na yun.

What can he say though about the call for Ronald to resign from his position as congressman out of decency and respect for the House of Representatives?
“From the very beginning pinag-usapan na namin na magre-resign siya. Maski wala kang kasalanan kako, you have to resign. Malungkot nga siya nung nabanggit ko ‘yan... So usapan na namin ‘yan.
