KC Concepcion says her relationship with Piolo Pascual is genuine

041511-kc_main.jpgAside from her weekly hosting duties on The Buzz and ASAP, showbiz royalty KC Concepcion is also busy preparing to return to primetime on the Kapamilya network’s upcoming teleserye Alta, which puts her in the same cast as Gretchen Barretto and Angelica Panganiban. She’s also working on a movie which pairs her up with heartthrob Sam Milby.

The 26-year-old host-actress said that despite the continuing stream of projects coming her way, she would like to think she has not been totally saturated by showbiz market. “In a way, people forget that life changes every week, month, year, and sometimes, they think that everything about me has been talked about,” she shares in the cover story of this month’s Metro Magazine.

After Piolo Pascual officially announced their relationship on the January 30 episode of The Buzz, KC said she feels more open about talking about it even though their very public relationship is constantly being hounded with issues. “It’s like an epidemic. I really would not want to fall into the whole trap of ‘Are you using me?’ So cliché. First of all, I’m a real person with real feelings , with real instincts, with some intuition. And at the end of the day, I’m the one who feels things,” she tells Metro Magazine.

As she moves into her new condo this month, KC reminisced about the first time she moved to Paris where she studied Corporate Communications at the American University of Paris. “I will always have my European life. My God, I left when I was 18 and I didn’t know anything about writing checks and commuting—I learned it there. I didn’t know anything about working—I had three jobs there. I was teaching English, I was a secretary for a press agency, and I trained as a receptionist in a hotel. I was fighting my way through everything,” she recalls in Metro’s April 2011 cover story.

Although a lot of people around her questioned her reasons for returning to the Philippines after living in Europe for half a decade, KC said she has no regrets about living closer to family and entering showbiz fulltime. “People think, ‘You were already in Paris!’ Who does that, go to Paris for five years then comes back and joins showbiz?’ Maybe because there’s something about it that I truly enjoy. ‘Cause I didn’t start out the way most people did. It’s a very personal thing for me and at the same time, you’re looking for yourself, finding yourself through it all. If ever I impress people or fail people, for me it’s all part of the learning process,” she shared.

KC also admitted how simpler life was back when she lived in her own pad in Paris. “There was more wonder then. There were no expectations, no deadlines, no marketing, no packaging.”
