Jomari Yllana on possibly getting back with ex-wife Aiko Melendez: 'I never closed my doors'

041511-jomari_main.jpgJomari Yllana was all bubbly when he and ex-wife Aiko Melendez faced reporters to talk about their upcoming project with ABS-CBN, the new fantaserye Atom. He even cracked a joke about their roles in the series. “For a change, mag-asawa ang role namin dito. Ha ha ha! Para maiba lang. Bagay ba kami? Ha ha ha!

When asked if there’s a possibility for them to get back together now that they will see each other more often, Jomari said, “Subukan natin dito, tutal mag-asawa naman tayo dito. Malay mo.” The actor added that he is very certain he will very much enjoy Aiko’s company once taping begins. I’m very comfortable working with her. Masarap at nakakatuwa siyang katrabaho.

Jomari and Aiko were married for three years until they separated in 2003. They have a son named Andrei who is now twelve years old. Despite the bitter end of their marriage, the two surprisingly managed to keep a beautiful friendship, and Jomari explained that the main reason for this was Andrei. “Siguro ‘yung common denominator namin in terms of wanting to save the friendship is ‘yung kids.

The 34-year-old actor/producer went on to share how, on his part, he was able to surpass the pain brought about by his breakup with Aiko. Minsan mahirap sagutin ‘yung tanong na, ‘What makes you happy?’

Jomari and Aiko are both single and since they will be spending more time together on the set, is there a possibility for romance to be rekindled? Jomari explained, “I never closed my doors. Never kong sinara, kahit inaaway niya ako, he he he!

He went on to say that it’s not an issue that Aiko has another failed marriage, one with former model Martin Jickain which lasted for two years. Aiko and Martin have a daughter named Marthena. Jomari joked.

As one of Aiko’s closest friends, Jomari said that if there’s a good thing that came out of her two failed marriages, it’s having Andrei and Marthena. Mag-fail man ‘yung relationship niyo, you would still want her in your circle of friends.”
